Two things stood out today.

Verbruggen mixed up his distribution with a significant number of longer balls to specific players, not just hoofs up field.

Many times when we had a break building, it was stopped by a foul on Joao Pedro or Wellbeck. Most of their 18 fouls seemed to be on these two, but Hooper wasn’t interested in booking anyone.

This is true, Pedro and Welbeck were taken out with so many fouls that could have been yellows. Hard to believe we ended up with more yellows than them

Agreed. That’s why I hope calm heads prevail and all concerned have a bit of a breather this summer.

I was merely musing on what Tony may or may not be thinking.

Which I admit is a pointless activity.
We need to reset. Europe free and most of the squad fit and then we can
re-assess. Whether we continue the journey with RDZ only time will tell.
I am concerned that his style of play puts high demands on our players. Possibly higher than they are capable of. The emphasis on possession can often lead to overplaying around the penalty box. One pass too many when quick decisive play is called for. Is his whole career going to be as a talented job hopper, impressing initially before levelling off or has his past ( 7 jobs in 9 years ) been an apprenticeship for stabilising and achieving success at BHA.

There is no way we’re finishing 10th.

Bournemouth only behind us in 11th now on goal difference and the way they’re playing against United currently, they could get those goals tonight!

Wolves also just one point behind us now. And with us having by far the hardest run in, 13th looks our most likely final position.
I reckon you'll be eating those words. :)

I see posters on here slagging other clubs for not giving managers time especially Chelsea and now after a season and a half RDZ’s time is up for some
The board are just as much at fault for this season as the players and manager are.
I find it amusing that you were so anti Potterball but so forgiving of De Zerbi serving up the same fare for half a season

You are even shifting the blame onto the board rather than the style of football.

Maybe just maybe the De Zerbi training methods have caused a large number of the injuries. Most seem to have happened during training? Just a thought.

I had some problems with the live stream today and I missed our equaliser.

I've just seen it on YouTube :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: and it's cheered me up no end.

It's just the sort of good fortune I believe we never get :bloom:

Has RDZ ever resigned from a job? I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the summer. His body language and tone has been miserable for months. He acts and talks about his future like he's out of contract in the summer...

I think I want a coach who has a bit of flexibility.
I'm not sure I like this dogmatic, my way or the highway approach. Might work at the biggest clubs but its not sustainable at a club like ours. There's been games recently where we just haven't been set up properly and a more pragmatic but flexible approach would likely have resulted in better results.
I love RDZ, his passion, the way he's increased the clubs profile externally and belief internally, but I do think we might be better off with someone a little less nuts.
So like us when we were younger, nuts once or twice a month at the weekends after payday, but otherwise quite sensible to make sure we had a job and got paid, to go nuts for a few weekends.

Or put simpler, yes, we need a coach with more than one string to his bow.

I'd like to see Bobtalian stay and develop his coaching diversity, whilst developing our kids, if he does that for another 2 years, one to grow and requalify for europe, and another bash at a trophy . . . That really would be something.

Does RDZ have the determination and staying power?

He maybe starting to learn German and just doesn't have the time for both.
Quite possibly so.

It was merely an observation of mine and I don't think it quite warranted the rebuke from the poster Sant Andreu or the "spiteful post !" remark from some silly old bat whose name escapes me, but thinks she is the 'Wisdom Giver' of NSC.

Yes. Hooper was incredibly lenient on their centre backs. A booking would have changed their tactics to some degree.
Not sure what’s up with Pervis. Injured but seems to be continually off the pace.
Igor did pretty well when he came on.

If Hooper had given JP and Welbeck any protection at all it would have been a different game. Wrestling a player to the ground or hacking him down is a foul. Hooper does not appear to know that.

Didn’t see the press conference yesterday, any mention on Ferguson being injured or simply
Not featuring due to form?

Well RDZ said yesterday he was injured

Disappointing today we should have won. Getting into Europe again with the players we’ve lost and the injuries was always going to be a very big ask

RDZ has proved himself give him a decent squad and he will achieve things. No one was complaining with a top six finish and an FA cup semi final.
I presume they trained last season under him without an injury pile up?
It’s as plain as day the midfield is weak this season patched up Baleba has more assists for the opposition than his own team.

I am still not complaining, I am disappointed that the wheels have come off and that we are shit to watch now

We go again next season with or without RDZ, I am less enamoured with him than I was when things were going well though so am a bit meh as to whether he’s here next season or not.
