We've done away with Labour(thank fook) and during the election the BNP and similar gained popularity on their immigration platform,so I can see in this country, instead of sitting on our hands, eventually, as other European nations we will follow suit and follow the masses. Not overnight mind but eventually.

France is fiercely secular (and has been since the revolution) and doesn't allow things like large crucifixes in public places etc. We're not and religion plays a much greater role in our society, which makes it a lot harder to justify banning religious attire.

Hate to spoil everyone's fun but this is not yet the law in France and is unlikely to become so as in all probability it is both unconstitutional and a breach of the European Convention which protects the right to free expression and religous belief.

There are churches in Baghdad and Christians are free to worship. The Iraqi spokesman in the first Gulf War is Christian.

I'm intrigued to hear about this mosque that can hold 1/3 of Britain's muslim population. Earlier this year, the Beeb reported about plans to build a 12,000 capacity one that had failed
