Been talking to Hull fans on line,they seem to think Burgess is in the squad to face Ipswich.But on the plus side Hull will let him go once they have signed another striker

problem is will they be able to sign another target man as we know they are hard to find. suppose they have more pulling power.

Hull City boss Phil Parkinson is considering a move for former Sheffield United and Stoke City striker Carl Asaba.

The Tigers have handed the 33-year-old a trial with the Championship club following his release from League One club Millwall, having failed to impress Leeds United in a similar run-out earlier this month.

Asaba played alongside fellow trialist Peter Bradbury in Hull's reserves this week, as the former Colchester United manager looks for new faces before the August 31 transfer deadline.

"We looked at Carl, there have been one or two enquiries for my players and my job is to make sure that, if anyone does leave us, that we've got players to come in and we don't weaken the squad," Parkinson said.

One player that could be heading through the Kingston Communications Stadium exit door is fellow striker Ben Burgess after Blackpool made an enquiry for the player this week.

Is anyone else starting to doubt that we are seriously after him? I hope I'm wrong but is our interest all a smoke screen for doing NOTHING serious about signing him or anyone else decent?

If so, I would much rather the club told us we don't actually have this mythical 100k plus and just put us out of our misery and get on with what we've got.

Maybe the cynics have been right all along and I've just been naive in believing the spin put out by the board and MM. I mean three f***ing years of talk

I suspect the reason he hasn't yet signed for anyone means there's stuff behind the scenes going on we don't know about. Blackpool were very keen 48 hours ago, now they've pulled out. You have to ask yourself why? This is the big one for us - the target man signing. The club nor McGhee can't afford to get it wrong again.

What's to understand? Of course Burgess and is agent is going to take his time listening to all the offers from us, Blackpool, Bristol. What's the incentive for them to sign up for the first club the show interest - his agent is going to be on the phone to every club from the middle of the Championship downwards.
