My faith in British justice has been restored momentarily as it was quite clear from the start that Nick Griffin was innocent of the charges brought and I find it incredulous that this case was brought to court and in doing so wasted a fortune in tax payers money.

No, it isn't.

But you wouldn't see it from a rational point of view. How could you, when you've been brainwashed with left wing policy? How many times Has our mate mr Griffin been dragged before a British court for him to only been found not guilty? It's a blantant conspiracy against him and his party, therefore a complete waste of time and money

He was found innocent therefore it was a wate of time & money. That fact cant be argued.
Rubbish. Of course it can.

He wasn't found innocent, he was found 'Not Guilty'. There is a MASSIVE difference, mainly based on the fact Nick Griffin was stirring up racial hatred, but in a way not deemed to be covered by law.

Secondly, although highly unlikely, who's to say the jury wasn't threatened? It's not as though the BNP don't have a track record of intimidation.

Thirdly, being found 'Not Guilty' - whether that was considered rightly or wrongly - is not necessarily a waste of time and money, especially in a case where it can be seen to clarify a point of law.

But that wasn't the agenda behind Question's post. If Nick Griffin had been found guilty, it would have still been a triumph for British justice because the same process of law was still followed. His point is that he is pleased the Nick Griffin was found 'Not Guilty' - irrespective of what the charge was.

Is the corect answer.

So far Griffin is 1-1, but possibly winning 2-1 after extra time. Guilty in the late 90's of distributing holocaust denial publications, not guilty here in a retrial.

Like Spearhead says, "It's Time To Stop Feeling Guilty About Being A Racist".......

He was found not guilty and therefore he is innocent of the charges brought against him.

Wrong.

Innocent is not used in a court of law because it carries a moral charge (implication that the person is innocent of the charges raised against them). Not guilty simply means that the charges against him have not been proven to a satisfactory degree in order to achieve a guilty verdict.

So, he was not guilty. Not innocent.

Griffin complains of a conspiracy too. It's one of the main bases of extremist politics, whether on the left or the right. I've no idea how many times Nick Griffin has been 'dragged before a British Court', only for him to be found Not Guilty. As far as I was aware, this was the first time. You seem to know him better, you tell me.

And I haven't been 'brainwashed with left-wing policy', not that I feel you really have an appreciation for what 'left-wing policy' actually is. Quite simply, I listen to certain arguments and take a view. If they happen to fall in line with what is considered in the old-fashioned sense, 'left-wing policy', so be it. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Hardly brainwashing, is it? Or is that how you come to your opinions, and assume everyone else does?

You don't have to be - I can't believe how stupid this phrase is now - 'brain-washed with left-wing policy' to appreciate Nick Griffin is a spiteful, nasty racist who is only interested in himself.

And you call me irrational. Good one.

.....................................................................

Not at all. I think justice was done because it could have been very easy just to have just taken the attitude that because he was BNP, he must have been guilty.
He was plainly INNOCENT OF THE CHARGE, and though he would seldom win an award for promoting racial harmony, that is not what my sentiments were concerned with.
As for your point about jury tampering, well you are just making a fool of yourself because you are unable to comprehend that there are people out there who can follow and understand how our justice system works.

If it ''was`nt covered by law then it wasn`t a criminal offence''.Maybe the courts mised this point and you can enlighten them in a letter to the Times.
