Total wages for year ending June 2003 was £2.8 million, but included 44 admin staff as well as 26 players.

So, assuming average admin staff salary was about £20k, then average player wage was about £74k.

Which makes the total players wages approx £1.9m ?

It was suggested to me that some of the "part time" footballers at Crawley could earn a grand a week if in the top 6 and winning, which they are.....

Not bad for a part time wage for kicking a ball around. Don't suppose they need to have another job to top up the wages, really.

What's shocking is that they are therefore earning more than some of our young players going by the posts above.

Hornchurch in conf sth are on approx £1300 a week and fulltime . paul mcarthy is there. Dosent stop them doing other jobs too

Simon Jordan was moaning last year that the average wage for a first team player at Palace was £392,000. On Brighton Rocks figures this gives them a squad of 8!

The 44, includes Admin, Management and Executive Directors.

Directors emoluments were £96k... (probably just MP).

MP does an actual job, to an extent, so the 96K is probably him and him only

I was told by one of their players that was why he didnt sign for them because they would not pay him that much.
