Surprised by this.

Remember Watford playing Luton a few years back for the first time in ages and it being an evening fixture. Luton fans took the day off work (well, the 3% who had a job did) and there was utter carnage in Watford town centre for the whole day.

If the police are that worried, why not a weekend midday start?

A night game, at the Amex, under the floodlights, with a day's excitement build up, against Palace??? I honestly don't think it gets any better!

That's lousy for those of us with little ones. I hadn't planned in letting my youngest go to evening games but I don't wish to deprive him of a vital part of his heritage.

But surely a midweek evening kick-off will prevent rival fans from drinking all day and engaging in running battles all around Brighton station.

Some Albion v Palace game that`ll be .....PAH

actually the 1977 game when Sammy Morgan got a brace before 33,000 fans at the Goldstone was quite a lively evening, smoke bombs included.

Evening is good for me, I reckon we may have the Hammers boxing day with the mid week Christams fixture away at Peterborough, so an easy 6 points that week!

Baloney. The games against Palace both home and away will be 12pm Sunday fixtures. FACT.

Is that because most of the Palace fans are unemployed?
No it's because there is conference in Brighton on the same day, entitled "Finding time for both a career in accountancy and your stamp-collecting". And the Palace Ultras have reserved front row seats.

Would they need to take a day off if they were unemployed?

Fool.

Think he meant "day release"

Whatever time, whatever day, it's going to be a corker of an atmosphere......

The atmosphere will be a lot worse for a midweek game than for a weekend game, but midday games are shit.

A Saturday 5:45 kick off after all the other games have been played leaving just one game in the spotlight while all the other teams have finished, all eyes turn to this and it's on Sky.

Brighton v Palace.

Abort, retry, fail
Im inclined to believe that the police would not bother with making recommendations until the fixtures have been drawn.

Then fixtures will start being moved about.
