On the balance of play overall, I think we were well worth a point. Coventry did get on top in the 2nd half at times, but we wern't getting over-run like we were against Plymouth. The team functioned far better as a unit, and unlike Tuesday we did actually look capable of stringing a few passes together. Currie looked much better, and some of his raking long passes actually found their target this time.

Jake was excellent - always available to receive a pass from the back, he scrapped and fought for the ball, controlled it nicely and did so well with his back to goal retaining possession and finding a pass - something we were sorely missing on Tuesday.

Overall very encouraging. The players looked far more comfortable with the 4-4-2. A point really was the minimum requirement today, they'll take confidence from this and with Leons ban now served we can really push on. I am a much happier bunny tonight.

London Irish - you know a hell of a lot about world politics but you know stuff all about football. We deserved at least a draw and for large parts of the game were the better side. You must have been pissed.

:lolol: Did you pass out in that second half then Gareth? Did you see any of those one-on-ones against Kuipers?

It was the " bigger mugging than Swindon today " on top of the comments that McGhee's previous 4-5-1 tactics on Tuesday were spot on that made me conclude you know stuff all about football.

Stick to politics.

Can you give me odds on that, Gareth?

New players

Currie - total shite , div 3 player
Nicholas - useless, div 3 player
Molango - rubbish
Jarrett - very promising

Any thoughts, Gareth? I know I need all the lessons on football I can get.

I thought we were well worth a point today.
Coventry were on top in the second half, especially after they scored, but Kuipers kept us in it with a couple of good saves.
Currie & Jake played well.

On NSC for over two decades...
Much improved performance today. Currie was pulling the strings, Jarrett, Robinson and Molango were full of running and the defence for the most part were comfortable (barring Danny's moment of madness). Little Hinsh did a much better job out of position than Mayo did on Tuesday, and Nicolas seemed more effective with someone a bit more solid alongside him. Still can't quite believe that Virgo's free kick went in, but I'm glad it did because the team deserved that point today.

No-one seems to mention Alex Nicolas, IMHO he was superb and worked his socks off:clap2:

Agreed.

with Robinson,Currie and Kuipers played very well.
Another mistake by Cullip led to their goal trying to play the ball to Virgo who had no chance in cintrolling it.Mayo had a solid game is he going to be better at the higher level like he was last time we were in this division ?We deserved the point today and overall I was a lot more encouraged by the whole team performance.
