Thats a huge point. We're finally off the mark. I thought we were going to get hammered today.

A great point. Its good to see us claw our way back into the game after going a goal down. Something positive to build on, especially with the return of Leon for the next game.

From the commentary it sounded like he had a good game and John Byrne said it is a long time since Brighton had a player with his range of passing.

Fuckin 'ell - it was Swindon all over again! How lucky was that! :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: Adam Virgo - he's been way off last season's form and confidence. Same this game - what a woeful corner give away near the end - but MARK MCGHEE kept the faith! Whereas many would have dragged him off, McGhee knows that he has that "X factor" that turns games!

But Virgo did one brilliant thing, Darren Currie did a whole game of top-class possession-based midfield play! Wonderful stuff - imagine that he was one of the early-season scapegoats!

The other HUGE hero - welcome back the old Michel! Two brilliant saves in the second half that kept us alive!

Currie took MORE responsibility for our play than our central midfielders! Everything in the first half flowed through him!

To be honest, I thought we were done for when we didn't get the early goal that our first-half play deserved.

Coventry absolutely CRUCIFIED us in the second half and probably deserved the 3 points. Our defence stood off and a fine shot form Hughes gave them the lead.

The Coventry owned the game in the second half - our midfield disappeared and they had about two or three one-on-ones to finish the game. But Michel did the business!

And then our inspiration Currie won the free kick! Then Virgo! :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Our season starts here!!!!!!!!

did u go..? cos u cant judge otherwise to be fair, i didnt but my dad said robinson was our MOM

Yes I did, I live two minutes' walk from Withdean in case you're wondering.

Yes, Jakey was superb in the first half and I was gutted for him that he didn't get the early goal. He faded a bit with the rest of the team in the second half.

But there were THREE players who got us that point!

MICHEL

CURRIE :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

AND VIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

yup, hopefully that will give the team some confidence. still dont understand why he takes jarrett/molango off.

Jarrett was not quite on top form today - not much of the play flowed through him - it all went down the right through Currie.

Molango was shot from running everywhere.

Two justified subs from McGhee. Not that OGH did much, other than almost get a yellow, but Jonah was lively and deserved his chance.

Thats great to know. Did he play well enough to keep the jersey?

I'd want to have a look at that first goal again. Too many shots have whizzed passed him from 25/30 yards.

But there was no doubt that two second-half saves were brilliant! And then he pulled off another one but there was an offside. Michel was really in the zone in that last 25 minutes!

Very lucky but on the balance of play deserved - onward and upwards we will be better when other players return

fair enuf. was barrett just running around like a headless chicken as usual?

I though he looked good - the "standing" outlaws in Block J and H were having good fun with him though! :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

At work - probably
Currie was brilliant today. Back four looked jittery at times - actually I think Kerry was the pick of the back four. Michel made some cracking saves. Jakey played really well - hardly got knocked off the ball, won headers and looked very lively. Actually we created 4 or 5 good chances in the first half - Currie's header was brilliantly saved, Jarrett was unlucky with another header from a great pass from Currie, Molango did a Zolaesque flick, and Jakey had a low curling shot well saved. Shame Molago got taken off but I guess he was tired - however he was stirring up the Albion fans in the South stand brilliantly after Virgos free kick.
If we had lost one nil it would not have been justified IMHO.
Virgs was a bit dodgy at the back especially in the second half but his free kick -:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

As drunk on gin and emotion as I am, I can't agree with that - today was probably an even bigger steal than Swindon.

Our midfield did brilliantly to fill in in the first half, Hinshelwood deserving his start over the unfit Reid and Nicolas doing OK (but IMHO not as well as Tuesday!) but Coventry eventually exposed them as we thought they would. We couldn't have argued with 3-0 in that second half, they were all over us.

But guess what, THE LUCK WAS WITH US TODAY, and boy, ABOUT TIME! Two disgusting penalty decisions in the opening two games, and we deserve this luck!

London Irish - you know a hell of a lot about world politics but you know stuff all about football. We deserved at least a draw and for large parts of the game were the better side. You must have been pissed.
