You can't blame them for charging a premium - captive audience, market forces, blah blah blah.
That's not market forces - as Beach Hut suggests. It's a pricing strategy designed to support the City Council's transport strategy.Tom Hark said:£10:00 per day and £70.00 per month?![]()
No wonder there's there's a waiting list for tickets. That monthly ticket price is ridiculously low compared to the daily rate.

The pricing structure encourages regular commuters to use the station car park, but actively discourages the casual parker from using the Station car park for less than it would cost to park elsewhere in the city centre.
When on-street parking charges (and revised off-street car parking charges) were introduced in Lewes, a lot of people discovered that parking all day at the station was cheaper than anywhere else in the town centre.
Result - the station car park was full by 8.30am and off-peak rail users couldn't find a space.
Increasing the daily charge has now restored the situation that delivers a parking space to off-peak rail users. Much better for anyone who doesn't realise that there are cheaper council car parks within walking distance, at Mountfield Road or even North Street.
