Albion ask about Butland

5:48pm Friday 27th June 2014 in Albion By Andy Naylor

The Seagulls need a replacement for the departed Tomasz Kuszczak and have enquired about Butland.

The England under 21 international would be available on a season-long loan, as Stoke have two experienced keepers in Asmir Begovic and Thomas Sorensen.

Butland, 21, already has plenty of Championship experience following loan spells with former club Birmingham, Barnsley and Leeds.

Very much yes, England u21 keeper with the England u19 as back up and Casper ready to come in should emergency arise. Not too shabby.

Butland - Burke's recommendation
Maenpaa - Hyypia and Niemi's recommendation

I'd rather have a player who the manager and goalkeeping coach want at the club, and a player who we've already bidded for.

This may well be a made up story by Andy Naylor and a mate of his on the Staffordshire Sentinel in Stoke!?

Then again if there is that sort of connection, there could well be something in it. There are usually two ways of looking at everything.

Oh dear...You couldn't make it up...

He's shit.
That doesn't need making up.

The problem is, most football fans know yak all about goalkeeping.

Shot stopping is the easy bit.
The important bits, the ones that define a good keeper, Butthead doesn't have and, at his age, he will never develop them.

We need to steer well clear.

Please enlighten us all on your goal keeping experiences. I'd like to understand how your view point is more valid than that of the England U16, U17, U19, U20, U21, England and GB 2012 management and staff. I'm tending to agree with them at this moment.

I would rather use my eyes when judging the ability of a player.

My eyes tell me he isn't very good.

Oh, and yeah, I have the goalkeeping experience!

Good for you.

How does that make Butthead any good then?

The use of Butthead is really helping put your, wrong, point across.
