The Zone , St James Street - I beleive this is next to Hiest at the bottom of St James Street (almost opposite Morrisons)

Malborough , Princes Street is a pub/theater - Walking down Edward Street just before you get to the bottom do a left its along there on the corner (good food)

Amsterdam , Marine Parade - 2 or three up from St James and R Bar (towards Marina)

Cheers, I think I know where Zone is, Amsterdam too. Wasnt sure on Marlborough, but it seems like its kind of near the Taj shop. May even do that tonight as I'll be at the King and Queen anyway

Good luck in The Zone. Never been in but judging by the f***ing messes standing around outside at mid day most days you would be lucky to get out out of there alive. Asides the Bulldog it looks about the worst pub in that area.

Albion Hill. The guy that used to do the Thai food in the Duke has moved down there. Pretty good it is too.

That food in the Beaufort was amazing and the waiter,, Paulo I think his name was hillarious

The Bulldog is no way near as bad as people make out. The Zone looks a cleaner, nicer place than The Bulldog too ( I think its mainly glass fronted)

Yes that him, His partner David who is a millionaire introduced himself to me as the 'Husband' of Paulo and then said - he's not a thai bride you know:lol:

I believe the Oriental is still on Montpelier Road, but there's also a place on western road just before Palmeira Square that used to be a Chinese but now fashions itself as a bar so you may want to go there.

Yep If you walk from Taj towards Edward Street The Marlborough is on the left hand side. I believe it is in Princess Street. It doubles as a Theatre bit like the old Nightingale used to.

I saw my first 'man with tits' in the Marlborough. It was an actual man, just with tits. True story.

theres a few grey area with places, as there seems to be a few places that are restaurant/bar type things. We made the rule that if you cant go in there and just order a drink (no food) it is not a pub.

Places such as The Square and that Chinese place by Palmeria Square

Pretty sure that Chinese place is more a bar now though, as my housemate went there for drinks last week. The la fourchette bar is definitely a bar too.
