[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs AFC Bournemouth *** Official Match Thread ***

I'm confused why again we have two number 9s (welbeck and fergie) up front. Our success has been built in 4-2-3-1 formation yet for second game it's looking like 4-4-2. Yes I know they all move around during game but can't recall last season us starting with 2 number 9s together

Pleased with the 11.

Milner, Mitoma & JPVH were poor on Thursday. More solidity and power with Veltman, Dunk, Dahoud and Adringa.

The one thing I’d have done different is 5 specialist midfielders instead of playing Welbeck. Hope I’m proved wrong and he scores a brace.
I am surprised Lallana isn't starting Number 10, with Either Fergie or Welbeck on the bench. However, with Gross and Milner injured, there is only Beleba left on the bench to come on if the midfield needs changing

Then you haven't been paying attention as Welbeck doesn't play as a 9 under RDZ. Drops deep most of the time in a Kane type role

Decent line up though I’m surprised to see Buonanotte in there ahead of the options we’ve got on the bench. Really hope he steps up and has a good game but he looked a long way short last season and I was hoping he’d get a loan.

Hope to see Joao Pedro on sooner rather than later and minutes for Baleba I’d have thought.

I thought Lallana should as ACM or 10.

This looks like a strong line-up, massively bolstered by Dunk in defence.
I think this will be a match for some of our players to show their talent, especially Buonanotte and Webster who are yet to find their feet in this side.
The weather is great here on the south-coast and hopefully the football is too! In fact, I predict that we will get a clean sheet.

Feeling more postive about our chances today having seen the line-up. Hope RDZ uses the bench well in second-half

If Dunk or Webster go off, Igor, Veltman or Estupinian will replace them and Lamptey will replace them. A very, very fluid defence...the same could happen in midfield.
There are so many players who can slot seamlessly into other positions it's astounding!
