RDZ has had a shocker tonight, love the man but this is on him tonight. Players weren't up for it, crowd didn't wake up until we got to 2-2. Big improvements needed

six feet beneath the moon...
Compare the two though. Our first ever European game isn't the time to bed in a player who both isn't ours and hasn't been particularly great for two seasons.
JP constantly made things happen.
no and i think RDZ got it wrong in that aspect. but tbh i think regardless of that, the defending was a much, much bigger issue. amateurish at best

They were very well organised and kept their energy up the whole time. It was like they had an extra man, they pressed well and were so compact in defence.

We were disjointed, kept passing into trouble and TERRIBLE at the back without Dunk. Gilmour below par, because their midfield were all over him.

Adingra needs to come in for Mitoma now, he's fallen way off form. Not going to write Fati off yet, but he didn't show much either.

Disappointing, but its only match 1 - five more to go.

Jody Morris on SSN reckons Solly has had a decent game
Jody Morris.? The brains behind Frank Lampard's coaching career?

No Solly played ok and got better as the game went on. He did seem a bit tentative throughout and that free kick he gave them in injury time was frustrating.

A Greek tragedy.

Meanwhile, Marseille fans have rioted in Amsterdam with reports of shop windows put through, fighting and firebombs set off in the ground! Good luck to anyone going to the French Riviera next time out. Stay safe.

Edited: trouble not as bad as first reported thankfully.

Disappointing. We were the agents of our own downfall with defending that was naive at best.

Still, heads up everyone. The other game was a draw and with 5 games left, there's still every chance.

First night nerves. Until their 3rd goal, we were looking the side far more likely to win the game with 75% total possession.

And we won't defend any worse than that for the rest of the season.

Totally outplayed tonight.
Our set piece defending and attacking are pathetic.
We huffed and puffed but they scored.
