Interestingly, the table of the 1996/97 season continued from the day before Steve Gritt had his first match in charge (I think that was Hull City at home in the December) has the Albion in 9th position on statto com. Shows what an improvement there was.
If there was a Player Of The Season award I would have voted for Paul McDonald. I remember the 4-4 draw with Leyton Orient, and his run down the wing for a pin point cross that saw Maskell (I think) score.
