I have restarted the Only at Home blog but moved it here in Proper Writings with the full permission of Bozza

It's an attempt to capture the weirdness of summer Premier League football behind closed doors, though I'm not sure there's a writer alive who could do full justice to the madness that was yesterday afternoon.

Anyway, read it here

Or don't. Your choice, like.

(this is not a coup against Exile by the way, merely a new home for a thing I've done for a while now)

I do enjoy football reports that don't have a lot of football in them. They're the best ones. Football is about the occasion. One suspects these are good times to write. Knowing all the characters involved in this one it made good reading. I hope Mrs GB makes an appearance next time as well. I can imagine her amused expression as the end of match 'have we scored ?' confusion enveloped GB's face.

Good read Guinness Boy.

I found out about Premier League Goal alerts yesterday when my teenage son said " Arsenal have scored "
blank looks from myself and Mrs BN9 looking at the tv, he then told us about his phone goal alerts as the ball went sailing into our net. FFS

Good read that, I was still ranting about the pointlessly timed sub of Mcallister just a second before he threaded that beautiful delivery through.

My experience of Arsenal home alone.
I called up the Sun reporter to do a piece on our match.
He sent round three ladies, case of beer, case of champagne, 60" UHD TV and a box of Piglets pies.
