They need to come up with a solution that suits you as well.
You are a British Citizen that doesnt want the constitutional integrity of this nation damaged by an imposed customs union .......well im hoping you dont want the constitutional integrity of this country damaged, no right minded patriot would.

How would a EU/UK customs union, applied to all of The UK, damage the constitutional integrity of this country?

Sky News Brussels correspondent Mark Stone pointed that out yesterday - no tech companies have come out and said we can do all this.

I believe there has been one bid

I see, so I can't mention the side effects of new drugs for all, including Cancer patients taking longer to reach the UK, if we leave the EMA, the difficulty in acquiring isotopes for Cancer scans if we leave Euratom, the potential for a return to violence in N.I. if we break the GFA in order to achieve leaving the customs union and single market, aside from the economic damage, reduced freedoms and weakening of our nation, because it disgusts the bloke who blamed drowned migrants on Merkel, shares screen shots that include folders for porn, spare porn, nasty porn and really nasty porn and wants a blue ****ing passport and less polish spoken in his earshot, at any price.

Oh no, you can mention cancer if you like when talking about the Irish border, no one is stopping you . It would make you a dick obviously but you can still mention it if you like.

Sorry if I come across as rude, Pastatwat has used up all my patience, but WTF are you getting at?

There are border checks between NI and the UK mainland already. Go and catch a ferry from Belfast to Birkenhead - you'll be checked - travelers nor goods can just walk in ( not that goods can walk anyway ).

No, they don't, we do.
It would not be imposed it was agreed to, we have agreed to regulatory alignment in the absence of any better solution, find a better solution or get what was agreed as the fall back position.
You are not competent to judge right mindedness or patriotism.

How do you get cameras etc put up with out making a border

Tech is great, but how can it tell how many people are in/what is in the car?

Exactly. Plus, The PSNI & Garda will have their work cut out protecting the cameras along all of the 310 mile border and protecting the people protecting the cameras etc - traffic cameras might be okay be with the Camden Massiv' in London, but dissident Republicans wont be so accommodating to their presence.

You must have missed the reference yesterday to a Irish customs union.........please try and keep up with current affairs. The EU were not suggesting a EU/UK customs union applied to all of the UK

Yeah, I can live with that, what we were talking about was the NI/Ireland land border, if you took a boat from Belfast to Dublin I suspect you would get checks, because those borders are international borders.

I knew that, thanks. That's because The British Government have ruled out a EU/UK customs union, (red lines and all that), which wouldn't threaten to damage the constitutional integrity of this country, so it seems the other realistic options are somewhat limited at present.

Still, our own free trade deals with Swaziland are much more important than the Irish border anyway.

Any chance we might now accept that Brexit is a very bad idea and move on. It's just not going to work in our interests is it.

Or are we happy to let our local GP, Liam Fox try to negotiate a trade deal with President Xi Jinping?

Maybe we can better serve the interests of our children by being a strong voice within a powerful trading block, like er, the EU.

I was accused in a similar way that you accused Thunderbolt, of stooping low, by referencing the potential side effects to Cancer patients outcomes, of your Blue passport ideology. I was going to say it makes you a dick, when you ignore the real consequences of your Brexit vision, but everything you post on this thread pretty much gives it away, that you are a dick.

Have you really not noticed in all the negotiations the EU have published their preferred option on everything.
Please tell me you have noticed this.
They have given their version of everything, their own guidelines say they must give appropriate recommendations to finding a solution in published slides and guidelines, which they do when they publish in their presentations.

Read their material and educate yourself

That is hilarious. Harry Wilson's Tackle & I have both served our country in the the RN. Unpatriotic and far left?
You seem desperate to put down anyone who puts forward an alternative opinion.

More mildly amusing than hilarious and as I said last night it was just a response in kind to the childish name calling aimed at me. I am sure you are both lovely really

It is too late to go back and be any sort of powerful force in the EU

If we go back it will be on worse terms.

What you are asking is that they do our side of the negotiations as well, they have stated their position, offered a situation that works for them, what have we put forward? Magic borders.

All this trouble for zero benefit to the UK.
All we get is a divided country. Look at it on here. People who held opposing views used to have a bit of a laugh and ribbing on here now we have people calling women *****.
Thanks Brexit.
What a total mess.
