NHS- What an insult to the 1000’s British students just here in Sussex studying Nursing, Paramedic degrees or training to be Doctors right now!

Elderly health care you say, well my mum has 3 visits a week from health care professionals, all British 🤷
Are these statistically significant samples?

It's also a fact that not enough of them do.
That might be the case but Lawros left foot stated “As for immigration, we need the people coming in on visas to do the jobs Brits won’t.” I asked what are these jobs that Brits won’t do that require a visa carrying person from overseas to do?

Rejoin why? If it hasn't worked it's because the government and others haven't tried to make it work but who says it's hasn't worked. Germany have been close to recession for a while so where is the benefit from being in the EU? There are two parts to leaving, the economic part and the sovereignty part. The day we left we got back our sovereignty so from that point of view its has worked. On the other hand many if not most voted to leave because of the immigration problem. It didn't make any difference because the government are giving out millions of work visas to workers from Africa and Asia to replace EU workers.
Nige, is that you?? 🤣

Ahh the usual Rodger one line insults often made when the intelligent posters on here make you feel safe to come out of hiding, be your own man for once
Do you really have no contact at at all with any migrants whatsoever, really?

Be your own man Rodge, you come across as the bloke standing behind others shouting insults when it’s safe with numbers in front of you.

Blimey, really. Why would the tories issue 1.2 million visas? Do you really have no contact at all with any migrants whatsoever? I think you are being a little disingenuous to say the least

I know what he's said and he's right. The obvious answer is nursing. We pay our nurses quite poorly by western standards, and as such we import Filipino, Nigerian Ghanaian etc nurses to make up the shortfall. Indeed, the Philippines actively trains more nurses than it could ever possibly need, so as to export those skills to the first world. These people then send some of their earnings home.

But the NHS is also full of auxiliary staff that do some of the more menial stuff, and an awful lot of those are low paid immigrants.

I assume you've been to an NHS hospital? The immigrants we rely on are absolutely everywhere! Do you think there is a queue of Brits ready (and, where necessary, qualified) to do these jobs then?

He implied that British folk won’t work in the NHS that is disingenuous,

It depends on how you choose to take his words, because it's equally true to say that nowhere near enough Brits will do jobs in the NHS that are needed to keep it running.

The problem is student loans. Nurses are poorly paid and it was decided their training needed to be via university so they could get a degree, to earn higher wages. Bursaries were supposed to help.
Nurses used to train on the job, and were qualified SRN after 3 years or SEN after 2 years. We aren’t training enough nurses in the U.K.

There are 40,000 nursing vacancies alone in the NHS.

Then there are carers in nursing homes which is a bigger hole in the employment stats.

And my Mum is in a nursing home where 90% of the staff are immigrants.

I have had more than my fair share of time in hospital, I must have been looked after by about 30 different nationalities.

My daughter was going to become a midwife, due to he Tories removing the nursing bursary, she simply wasn’t able to afford it.

I never mentioned the NHS, that was you who assumed that is what I meant. I actually meant the care sector, nursing homes, etc, and indeed agricultural work.
