More than ever for obvious reasons, said countless times on nsc, we should be full members of the EU.

Would love to hear a cerebral argument to the contrary, that stacks up.
This.....
I disagree.

Life is too short to go around staring at your shoes fearing what might happen next week/year.

Unlike posts on here, life is not about editing but getting on with what you have and enjoying each day to the max.

I find it all far more pleasant, and far easier to get on. It's not advice, just an approach.
I have absolutely no idea what point you are making..... but I am interested to learn. Please will you express yourself in a way that we can understand.

Are you saying we must live in the present because we can only act in the now? If so I agree, but the rest is pointless pap....

The only condition that is controversial is Economic and Monetary Union, but Denmark doesn't use the Euro so I don't think letting us have the pound will be a dealbreaker.
I believe that the criteria is only “a commitment” to joining the Euro, rather than a “you must join the Euro within 12 months” statement. We could commit to joining by the year 2075 and meet the criteria, but not many people around now will see it.

Rejoin why? If it hasn't worked it's because the government and others haven't tried to make it work but who says it's hasn't worked. Germany have been close to recession for a while so where is the benefit from being in the EU? There are two parts to leaving, the economic part and the sovereignty part. The day we left we got back our sovereignty so from that point of view its has worked. On the other hand many if not most voted to leave because of the immigration problem. It didn't make any difference because the government are giving out millions of work visas to workers from Africa and Asia to replace EU workers.

I notice you are completely ignoring the economic part’

And as for Sovereignty’ we are having to join with the EU because of Ukraine. We are no longer a super power and need as many reliable friends we can get.

As for immigration, we need the people coming in on visas to do the jobs Brits won’t.

The message from the Brexit triffids is clearly, 'never mind lived experience, we all need to just believe more'; It's laughable but tragic at the same time.....

Millions of work visas to people from Africa and Asia?

Genuine question, apart from seasonal fruit picking, what sort of jobs are these visa immigrants needed for that Brits won’t do?

I had to queue for ages to get through passport control yesterday and all because of a few stupid morons punching themselves in the face nearly 10 years ago. Unbelievable
Plus the mentalist over-reaction to 9-11.
Let's imagine every little old white woman is a potential terrorist.
Let's not target Muslims because that would be profiling at that's wrong.
Let's empty the old woman's bag, and confiscate her Evian.
Slowly, with full paperwork.

I know that only a tiny percentage of Muslims are Islamic Terrorists.
But I also know that zero percent of non-Muslims are Islamic terrorists.
Do the 'math'.

If I were looking for a three-legged sheep I wouldn't round up all the goats, cats, dogs and field mice. FFS.

(Other types of terrorist are apparently available, but most of them were born to non-Muslim parents and bred in the UK.
And like English Merlot, they don't travel)

But, yes. Only the non traveler imagines that Border Controls to stop the likes of you and I entering illegally into our own country,
at great expense and time waste, is a Brexit Bonus that was well with voting Leave for.

Utterly moronic. Our friends, neighbours, allies, customers/suppliers just 20 miles away. It achieved Jack Sh1t.

Get the paranoid impression that Italian or French or Austrian immigration officers are thinking you tw@ts.

The Brexit Premium … our passports are filling up with stamps, like the good old days when travelling was ‘posh’ .

How utterly ridiculous. Leaving one of the worlds largest free markets, replacing frictionless trade with vast amounts of red tape, isolating ourselves in an increasingly unstable world was a crass decision with no chance of ever benefiting this country. Sovereignty is an illusion, a rallying cry for deluded nationalists. As for immigration - why do you think successive govts feel a need to offer work visas? Is it to replace the "indigenous population" or to keep wages low or some other dark conspiracy? It will be the biggest failure of the Starmer govt not to rejoin.

NHS, elderly health care?
NHS- What an insult to the 1000’s British students just here in Sussex studying Nursing, Paramedic degrees or training to be Doctors right now!

Elderly health care you say, well my mum has 3 visits a week from health care professionals, all British 🤷

It's not an insult, it's a simple fact. Try looking up the percentage of NHS workers who are immigrants

Lawro’s Left foot said and I quote “As for immigration, we need the people coming in on visas to do the jobs Brits won’t.”

It’s a fact that British workers do work in the NHS 🤦

It's also a fact that not enough of them do. Honestly, I don't understand why you find this so surprising. The NHS has long relied on immigrant workers. This is nothing new. "Insult" FFS. Good lord.
