I agree and have done this in the past where I've been (very rarely) too ill to attend.I'd rather give my ticket away for free than see it go unused if I was unable to go for any reason. At the moment I can't do that.
I just genuinely don't understand why the go to thought is that a fan who uses the exchange would therefore immediately be flagged as "gaming the system". You don't get to be in tier 1 by not going to games so I believe in assuming positive intent and that those who get tickets and couldn't go have legitimate reasons for that. Iit makes no sense to doubly punish a fan for wanting to do the right thing.
In that, I can only see the ticket exchange as a good thing, even if you ended up having people abuse the system because ultimately it allows more people who can attend to attend. I don't understand why you'd put in place barriers to try and disincentivise fans from doing that if they couldn't attend.
