So are the reigning World champs really struggling or are they tactically just doing enough until they really flex their muscles?

Carlos Alberto Parreira said they wanted to start at around 70% and get better as the tournament went on, eventually peaking at the final. So I think they're just doing enough until the latter stages where I expect them to be at the top of their game.

I think Ronaldo is borderline cold, forget off the boil

the whole team are mediocre at present, but thats because theyre lazy and don't need to be much better, its dissapointing they get away with it though, I hope they get stung !

Can someone tell me what Robbie Carlos brings to the party apart wasting most of the freekicks he takes?

Roberto Carlos is a quality left back but I agree about the way he wastes free kicks. His stats must be awful, amount of free kicks taken compared to amount of free kicks on target must be SHITE.

1) There playing shit.
2) No team "decides" to play at 70%, there just not good enough.
3) Robert Carlos is a good player but WHY does he take the free kicks ?
4)Why do the centre forwards talk to each other at kick off or starting the second half in a really fake way ie. commenting on each others shirts or really overly laughing ?
5)Very average team that will not win.

The two strikers are pretty good mates by the way.

They are struggling because their tactics aren't right, and their star striker is off form.

As opposed to the awesome might of Australia, Croatia and Japan?

croatia and australia are both very well organised sides (hiddink is famed for it), china and costa rica were, from what i remember very UNorganised sides

any team that is weak in defence will get ripped to shreads by brazil

True, but it doesn't actually make them any good. For all I know (or indeed care), Cambodia might be a fantastically organised side. They're still shit, though.

While Australia and Croatia wont win the tournament, Brazil would do well on average to put more than 2 past them in each game, whereas China and Costa Rica are terrible in defence,
