Isn't it weird how a young Hurzeler, Ayari, Minteh, Gruda perhaps just needed some time to settle into PL football in a new environment.

Still, bring on the next young player who isn't a world beater by October, despite moving from abroad and being asked to play elite level football at the same age where I couldn't cook myself a proper meal.

Compared to Pedro in that same position, 1) he didn’t slow play down and moved the ball on quickly / drove forward causing massive gaps and 2) didn’t fall over a lot.

It’s a funny thing to critique a player on, but I know what you mean, Gruda does everything he can to stay on his feet.

Absolutely outstanding tonight. MOTM by a mile. Truly superb performance. Starts in that 10 role. Terrorised the Liverpool defence.

Technically very, very exciting player. But he showed everything tonight. Drive, tenacity, speed, movement. His close control and balance is quite something. And takes a bloody good corner too!

It's a shame the Welbz shot after Gruda's backheel was saved. That whole move was incredible and would have topped the lot.

It was total football and I agree with you - I know Gruda is having his NSC love-in moment now and he totally deserves it - but jesus we've been crying out for years for a centre mid who makes those kind of attacking runs into the box - this is why Fab picks Ayari even tho some of the more prolific posters want someone else there
