Block A & B Season Ticket Holders

Just received the Club's letter responding to the feedback they've had about the moving of the Family Section from Blocks A & B to the old away stand (Blocks T & U).

Without repeating the entire 3 page letter here, they've covered off the 3 main points of concern, namely:-

1) They did not consult with supporters over the proposed change.

It is the role of the board to make these kind of decisions and we are ever mindful of their impact on supporters. the running of the Club is delegated to the Board and, whilst it is impractical to consult supporters on every decision, the new Family Stand proposal is in exactly the same spirit.

2) The view from T & U is the worst in the stadium.

It isn't. That dubious mantle is now held by the new Away stand.

3) Current A & B STH's enjoy the atmosphere where they currently sit which, by implication, cannot be recreated in the new Family stand.

They've had positive feedback from the people who have already used T&U, kids for a quid has been popular, etc. In addition, they are installing another 4 rows of seats at the back of T&U so the capacity will be nearly 1000 seats.

The 2 main things coming out of the letter are that they are arranging for A&B STH's to visit next Friday afternoon to choose their new seats and try out the various viewing positions.

Secondly, there's a small concession for current Family STH's in A&B who wish to remain there in that the Adult price will be £382 (Single Payment) instead of £405 (£411 in instalments vs £432 previously).

Personally, I think this is a sensible compromise. The 'open day' is a good idea and there's a financial solution if people want to stay in A&B.

I don't think this would have happened if we hadn't kicked up a stink though so well done to all those who wrote in, took part in my poll before the Watford game, phoned Harty, etc.

Two weeks late with the letter. Three pages and still no mention of the situation for three year season ticket holders.

Agree the compromises are a good thing, but it still isn't very professional is it?

Also, what about all of those who have to work on Fridays (the majority I would assume), when are they getting a chance to choose their seats?

At the end of the day the Board made a decision on which some compromises have been made. Perhaps it could be arranged for people to visit the ground to suss out the seats on a weekend when the Albion are playing away (ie follow the team on Saturday and go to Withdean on Sunday)

Inviting people on a Friday afternoon is just plain stupid. Do they expect everyone to take time off work?

I think they should put themselves out for the people affected and set up mutually convenient times.

I think they've already said the 3 year season tickets will not be moved.

I don't think many people will let the £23 discount they're offering change their lives.:nono:

Just a bit of lip service as far as I'm concerned.I think they'll have a shock when August comes round and they see the crowds have dropped.

Not a particularly great compromise.

I will remain in the B block not moving to the new Family stand thanks.

Well I think it stinks, basically what they are saying is that you can stay in your seat for another £170 per year, or move to a stand where you can not see the pitch, great choice, well Mr Perry after 42 years of supporting the Albion, Bye Bye.........no more Season Ticket for me........

In the letter it states its good value for money, I will paste the link to the current season ticket prices for Blackburn Rovers which I do not support and won't but my sons mothers family are from there so he supports them second to Brighton. Now this is what I call good value for money top flight football descent prices and not sitting in the open, albeit I know we are paying the price for a small ground and open to the elements. Its a cheek for them to say its good value for money as lately its been diabolical and crap and will not get any better!

if you get moved to the old away end REJOYCE its a great place to take kids,(saw the watford game from there) the view isn't half as bad as moaners say get tickets for the upper half and the view is better than a block, its small, self contained and got its own entrance/exit right in front of the railway tunnel.you dont have to fight your way through 5000 to get to the bog(no queues at all saturday) the burger van does good hot chips and you get served easily.
its safe its secure its easy to take a kid to the loo
its miles better for any parent
