Mainly that the police have gone and done this to a blind man with a stick (i assume in broad daylight)
But I thought I would throw a quick pun in as well.
If you find my sense of humour of poor taste, I apologise.
I thoroughly enjoyed the pun, i should had put in a thumbs up or a lol face in their for clarification, i apologise.

It's amazing what other people spot, or am I just "blind" (no pun intended) to noticing this kind of thing?

Great spot btw.

Worthing
I've always thought that if blind people had a spike on the end of their sticks there would be a lot less litter on the pavements.

You don't have to have total loss of vision to be Registered Blind. All sorts of vision impairments count as blind. In this guys case he obviously can't see downwards or behind very well.

The police of course have fallen back on the old cop-out (no pun intended), of seeing "what lessons can be learned", here's some for starters:

1. Learn to recognise the difference between a blind man's white cane and a samurai sword.
2. Don't shoot old men in the back without provocation.
3. Don't treat all members of the public as your enemy, or one day they will be.
4. Don't automatically resort to maximum violence just because you can.
5. Stop handing out potentially lethal weapons to fools.
etc. etc..

very much this

Oh be reasonable, everybody knows it's completely impossible to tell the difference between a cane-weilding old man and a sword-weilding samurai. I mean, look at that picture above, and compare it to this one.

Pretty much identical.

my first thought was what was going through his mind when the police were shouting "put the sword down" ?

He must have thought "f***ing hell there is a guy with a sword near me, f*** gotta get outta here"

Just be thankful you don't live in the States. Near to me in Scottsdale, one police officer recently shot dead an unarmed man holding his 7-month-old grandson. This is the SIXTH - yes, SIXTH - fatal shooting that the officer has been involved in, with some of the other victims also being unarmed.

That is truly sickening on so many levels. The hows & whys that follow that are just endless.

The police, eh? Unimpeachable heroes when killed or injured in the line of duty, idiots when something like this happens, criminal conspirators at Hillsborough.

As you all know, I'm the last person to defend a Tory, but it strikes me as odd that when the Chief Whip and two police officers on duty in Downing Street differ in their recollections of the details of a conversation, everyone believes the police - because as the Hillsborough evidence proves, coppers would NEVER collude in inventing a story ... oh, wait.

I suppose, like every other profession, it takes all sorts. I know a couple of coppers and they're good people, but I'm not so sure about some of their colleagues.
