Curiosity finally got the better of me this evening after a late night at the office, took a minor detour to go and see the oddball doing his thang. First impressions - annoying how often you see it referred to as 'suspended over the Thames in his box'. He isn't, by about fifty feet. Second, hardly a shock that the enterprising golfer failed to shatter the glass from Tower Bridge. Reachable, definitely, but it would have to be a cracking three wood to about five feet from the hole to strike lucky, an awesome shot required. I reckon Tiger would only make that about one out of ten.

About three to four hundred hanging around (about 11.30pm). A bizarre mix of pissheads on the way back from work, a lot of students, and your homeless Tennents Super crew baffled by all the attention. Disappointingly no egg throwers, though there were a few heavies around to prevent that presumably. Quite a lot of general abuse aimed in the fat weirdos direction, the loudest group being a bunch of Hassidic Jews - not noted for being big trouble makers, you'd imagine. One was wearing an Arsenal shirt as well, absolutely clueless.

The man himself was unusually discreet - lying motionless on the 'floor' for the duration. All in all, a pretty underwhelming experience. (Another) ten minutes of my life utterly wasted.

Flicked it on the telly just after 11, trying catch the pub crowd giving him some stick. Looked pretty quiet. There were a couple of shouts and he did get up at one point and give lots of peace signs. Then after a few more abusive shouts he swiveled his wrist to give a quick v-sign - nice!

"David don't give up for god is watching us everyday and he will never fail us in anything, so keep the Faith"

It proves the point about our yob culture and the adverse publicity we are getting all over the world. Isn't it great we look at something and say " hey thats different, it does not fit into my opinion of normal , I do not understand , he is unusual " therefore lets throw eggs, golf balls, spit, swear, bank drums ".

Aren't the English public so great and tolerant.:jester:

On a serious point, what worries me is how many of the objects thrown and hit at him are missing. No wonder we're so crap at sport.

That is priceless. I tell you what would be an endurance test, 44 seconds in a glass cage with some of those "Jesus wants you for a sunbeam" freaks without being able to lamp one of them.

Rubbish Gareth.

I think the rest of the world (often confused with being America) is thinking - "Yeah, go on, get the arrogant yank down. We may not be able to do anything about their foreign policy, but we can drive this half wit to distraction!"

Hamilton - basically what your saying is that because he's American he's fair game. As you disagree with the USA foreign policy you have tarred 230 000 000 with the same brush. And for your information, Blaine was against the war in Iraq !.

what a bunch of freaks on that message board!

he is not getting support from the british public, so why did he bother doing it here?

there is nothing clever in going 44 days without food, the guiness book of records will not even aknowledge the stunt as it involves fasting.

millions of Jews died though starvation in WWII, Irish in the potato famine ,dont think they would see the trick as spectacular

the yanks are as thick as shit and think its big and clever,
thank god i was born this side of the pond!

I often have lunch around there.

Next time you should see if he wants to share it, possibly by buying a catapult and shooting it at his glass case. Would work well with tuna and mayo sarnies:lolol:

Cany stand the bloke. He is constantly trying to play god, by proving that he can things no-one else does.

Put me in that case with a barrel of stella and I'd do it no worries
