Cardiff made a very serious bid for Noone. Who knows whether there have been bids that have been rebuffed anyway?

Why would any of the above attract serious bids from anyone at Championship level or above?
The only players that seem attractive from outside our club are KLL, Buckley & Vicente and even they won't attract offers of over 1.5m.
Sometimes we all need to take our blue and white tinted specs off buddy.

Yeah, no-one would want Bridcutt in their team :p

No bids for Bridcutt surprises me. He's absolute quality, and is very rarely unfit. You could argue KLL and Buckley would be worth less due to their hamstring issues, but Bridcutt is always fit and is a stand out player for us.

In January Cardiff bid (they say) £1.7m for Noone and Warnock indicated his recent interest in CMS would be on the basis of us at least breaking even so you may be being a trifle pessimistic.

My guess FWIW would be that if Buckley improved his injury record he would be valued at £2m+

I suspect Bridcutt will attract some heavy bids come January if his current form continues - I would certainly put him in (potentially) the £2m+ bracket

Not surprised myself its one of the least glamourous roles on the pitch. Why do you think Madrid let Makelele go! One thing is for sure this last transfer week and closing day will be as mad as ever!

Dicker and Harley haven't been mentioned, except by you. :)

Does seem strange that there haven't been any serious bids (yet) for our 'stars'

Dunk, Bridcutt, Noone, Barnes, Calderon etc

the ETC. to me was Dicker and Harley, since they have played a major part in this season so far they must be our 'stars'?

I am equally surprised (assuming there have been no bids what with Reading and Fulham's apparent interest.) Especially as there is a clamour for "that sort" of player and there isn't a better one outside of the Premier League (imvho.)

I'm guessing a number of clubs have "enquired" about our players, but where in the past we would've welcomed the money, it's a case of "thanks for the interest, flattered, but not looking to sell".

Noone last season did attract interest from Cardiff, however form changes and form has significantly dropped up until the last game. I think Cardiff would have been pretty happy the deal didn't happen.

With regards to Buckley, depending on how he gets on this season could see his value rise significantly higher, especially as a free goal scoring winger (which seem to bring in big $$$).

Sorry if I seem pessimistic, I'd love all of our players to be worth a few million each and I can understand how a lot of fans are biased in thinking they already are!

I'd definitely agree that Bridcutt has probably got the (currently) highest price tag. I mistakenly overlooked that and definitely agree that offers will be coming through the door by next summer if form continues.

We need bids for:

CMS
Harley
Dicker
Ankergren

With the funds and/or reduced payroll costs, used swiftly to buy a class finisher & creator backup for Vicente.

I am constantly amazed no one has bid for Bridcutt. he would fit into a second tier Premiership team like Fulham, Southampton, WBA so easily.

Is clearly of Premiership quality.

2 inches taller an he would be gone I suspect - in fact 2 inches taller and he might never have left Chelsea in the first place. We know how well he jumps and that will ultimately be enough for someone to take the chance with him but it is almost certainly just that little bit of physique that makes top flight clubs ask the question on whether he would cope. I could certainly see him slotting in at Fulham or West Brom or Swansea but maybe not someone to suit Stoke or Saints who employ more obvious "muscle" at the back

Again Makelele 5"7 or 5"8, hardly a giant! Its a position that is not about size but reading the game and being a bloody nuisance to the opposition.

I agree but I still suspect that scouts and managers look at physique and question whether it will be a hindrance - it is an extra factor to overcome in persuading a top club to take a chance.
