I agree but I still suspect that scouts and managers look at physique and question whether it will be a hindrance - it is an extra factor to overcome in persuading a top club to take a chance.

I do agree we have an obsession with how big and strong a player is in this country, but real quality on the ball cost's you a fortune for example David Silva. But i think Gus has learned it's much cheaper to get a big player which is a means to an end, promotion. Then the big bucks start rolling in and a whole new market opens up.

Again Makelele 5"7 or 5"8, hardly a giant! Its a position that is not about size but reading the game and being a bloody nuisance to the opposition.

No bids for Bridcutt surprises me. He's absolute quality, and is very rarely unfit. You could argue KLL and Buckley would be worth less due to their hamstring issues, but Bridcutt is always fit and is a stand out player for us.

Me too. From what I've seen over the last couple of seasons, I don't think there are many better players in the championship, the guy is class. Long may it continue!
