Any parking fines from Truro?

Watch it, cheeky.

As it happens LadySeagull gave advice that got Mrs T out of a scrape a couple of years ago, but that was in docklands rather than the Cornish home of clotted cream fudge.

Coincidentally, as it is you, we are going back to North Devon this year (which is quite near from Cornwall, as the crow flies). Croyde Bay. Hired a whole house and teaming up with the in laws. Not sure they will appreciate us dragging them round those National Trust houses if it rains, but extending the cultural gift to Northerners (they live in Coventry) is the least we should do, shirley?

All the best.

I have to say that gambling is something that has completely passed me by.

Save a few quid made at Corals on the dogs as a teenager with a couple of contacts and more than a few quid lost at Sgt Yorks, Hove Sporting Club and some dodgy casino in Portsmouth when I first started earning good money, and took a liking for buxom blonde ladies

That's a shrewd bet mate.

For everything that's happened, I just think Citeh might be the last English team standing by the semi-finals. It so often happens - in the face of adversity, Pep Guardiola might ride off into the sunset with the biggest trophy of the lot before their probable ban. The draw is critical but with Juventus (0-1 down without an away goal) and Barcelona (player unrest from social media sources), this might well be their year.

Good luck with it, Weststander. I hope you win a decent amount, bud.

Cheers.

Atletico have an astonishing defence, I think they’ll knock LFC out, Spuds are terrible just now and Chelsea are being outclassed. I agree. Barca’s squad really has deteriorated, they have injuries and only Messi’s brilliance is holding them together.

Citeh have manufactured a belligerent ‘the world’s against us’ response, I think they’ll win the CL. They must be nailed on for the PL title 2020/21, whilst their rivals expend playing resources and energy on CL matches. Bet the odds will be stingy though.

Is care needed if the original back bet was with the same exchange?

It won’t go down well backing and laying on the very same market?

No, you can do whatever you like on Betfair Exchange. Traders back and lay on the same market all the time. However, if the original back bet was on Betfair Sportsbook then yes, don't lay it off on Betfair exchange. Use Smarkets rather if they have that market.

Had about six bets in my life, didn’t even bother with National sweeps stakes at work, and with very rare trips to the races with work or friends, I didn’t bet, I just there for the boozing.

But I’ve dabbled since last August, after watching NSC matched bettors for years. It does work, but I got bored scrambling around for £4.77 and £14.53 profits. Instead it’s got me playing around with lay betting, Potter’s many non-wins have been very rewarding this season, for example.

See, you proved my point (above, about finding all this baffling). I was simply taking out a psychological insurance bet, and then found myself in a cash out dilemma. I was not planning on outwitting the global betsters, money markets and fort Knox in the mose elaborate and cunning coup know to gambling man.

**** me, that track is double shite. Apologies for that.:lolol:

I feel a bit like I am starting a thread in homage to the great BG....but here goes:

I have a bet placed on Bet 365. It is the first bet I have placed since the 'fixed' dog race debacle of 1978.

I placed a £50 bet on the outcome of a sporting event (oh, I'd best come clean, The Albion to be relegated this season) at 8:1. Psychological insurance, don'cha know.

The only thorn in the ointment is that I am now being offered 'cash out' at more than twice my stake (£112.50).

Mrs T is a bit cross I have wasted £50 (optimistic, is Mrs T). She knows an awful lot about football, but doesn't really like it.

So.....should I stick and collect £60 (8 bottles of decent red at Majestic) or twist and risk becoming single-handedly responsible for The Albion's relegation, followed by who knows what sort of nightmare scenario in the championship, with Potter holding the club to ransom, not speaking with Ashcroft/Ashdown whatever his name is, and various overpaid players languishing in their games rooms, feigning injury.

And if AmexRuislip suggests this thread is useless without a poll, I'll be round next week to 'water' his asparagus patch ???

I think the action of Bet366 (see what I did there!) shows that they're starting to become concerned. With the Leap Day going as bad as it possibly could for them (and us), they're trying to pay you off with a measly (imo) amount. I've never been in this situation as I only bet in shops but if it was me I'd keep going for another three matches - until the end of March - and assess the situation then.

Keep us updated mate with their offers and hopefully our advice is useful to you. I hope you make a decent profit but we stay up. Rotherham on a cold, wet Tuesday night is not something we want to contemplate yet!

All the best mate.

Thanks, that makes sense, I did realise that it’s just two sides of punters money in a market.

I am on at 9/1 for £50. Basically we are all getting our money back when the coronavirus causes the abandonment of the season and all bets are voided.

You can bet against the Albion being relegated at 3.7 on Betfair Exchange here: https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/football/market/1.159595497.

If you stake £50 on them not being relegated, this will cost you £135 if they are. So, you will win £400 at the bookie, but lose £135 if they are relegated, giving you a profit of £265. If they are not relegated (which they won't be, you miserabalist), you will get your £50 back (less commission of 5%).

It also depends on how much the money means to you. I suspect you are pretty well off, so £50 will not mean much to you if Brighton stay up.
Nice bit of money if the worst happens though.

Each to their own and all that, but I could never, ever, place a bet on us even losing a match, let alone getting relegated. It just wouldn't feel right.

Not that you’ll see this but betting on your team to fail, really????
