Better to finish SECOND in the group?

If we win our group and the rest of the games we are headed for a quarter final game with Holland probably and a semi final showdown with Brazil...

If we finish second we go through the other half of the draw with Germany, Italy and France.

Which route is *easier*?

Yep, that is correct. I worked it out the other day. It has to be a draw in the paraguay sweden game though (Paraguay could still get as many points as us if they win).

Meeting and beating Germany in the next round, both of which are possible, would get my vote. If we then go out at least we would have beaten the Germans (again) on home ground as WC hosts. F******* fantastic.
