The band the Eagles stole members (Randy Meisner and Timothy B Schmidt) from and who never got anywhere near the recognition they should have. Sublime..imo

The band who turned me on to Country Rock

This made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I first heard it in 1970, it still does today nearly 50 years later.

This was recorded during their world tour, they opened with it when I saw them at The Dome. Not only did they nearly take the roof off they also managed to get banned by Brighton council from ever playing at The Dome again. They were in the Guiness book of records at the time for being the loudest band in the world, it wasn't the noise that got them banned it was the mini riot at the end of the gig, even made the headlines in The Argus next day.

They don't come much better than this

Another belter of a first track.

Steve Miller has a few.

Song for our ancestors, space intro and threshold too
Yes, I seem to remember Steve Miller often put the best track right at the beginning of the album, rather like this splendid example from 1970.

It was also a superb alternative to 'Here comes the bride' when my daughter got marred at the Two Thousand Trees Festival!
