I figured, Mathew 'Im 13 stone honest' Newnham would post on this thread. I saw him down the park in his westham shirt the other day.

Arsenal he likes also, can't think why!

Charlton, he likes because they field english players...

makes perfect sence for a guy who likes the gunners aswell.

Charlton partly because of the Albion connections and partly because they have been through hard times (look at the shithole they had for a groundshare!) and have become something we can aspire too.

Donny Rovers because of the last game at the Goldstone and the support we have had from them since, great bunch of genuine supporters.

and

Man City for fantastic loyalty and support in the shadow of the success at Man Ure, even in the Nationwide league they had massive gates. They always bought amazing support to games at the Goldstone.

Having said that, none of them come close to the real thing!

SEEEEAAAAAGGGGUUUULLLLLSSSSS!!!!!!!

Norwich (very strong family connections)
Charlton (for obvious reasons and mutual dislike of Palace)
Donny Rovers
AFC Wimbledon
Inverness (favourite part of Scotland by far), though they're contemplating a ridiculous groundshare with Aberdeen if they get promoted: fancy a 96 mile trip to home games
Deportivo La Coruna (does that count?)

Tranmere, family all live round there and Tranmere would have been the team I would have probably supported if my rents hadn't moved to Sussex. When we played them this season I was supporting the Albion and was gutted that we lost to them away.

I've always had a soft spot for Liverpool and I would love to see them challenging the likes of Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea again.

Having said that I loved it when we were their bogey team.

I would love to see Liverpool get back to their winning ways. They are the most suscessful English team in football history. I used to support them til I was 14 and decided I was a stupid little boy for supporting a team up north and decided to support the team of my County Brighton.

for arsenal i get the occasional ticket and all the worthington cup games(once brighton are out of course!). also going to the martin keown testimonial match this month..fantastic!!!

i know i have opened by self to a barraging of the 'u should only support albion' rants...so thats why im off!

Barnsley and Coventry.

I've managed them both to the Premiership title on Championship Manager.

Word of warning for those who have 2nd/3rd etc fav teams. I always looked for Norwich results; as an innocent 11 year old I saw the Albion's last ever game in the old div 1 at Carrow Rd (lost 2-1). I've always liked the canaries because of family connections and because they're a team Brighton could aspire to be like in terms of size and success and they've always played good passing football etc. But when we played them for the first time last season since the early 80's I found that 2nd/3rd fav teams are just warped ideology; you THINK you like 'em because they've had a hard time, family roots or a particular player/manager....BUT! Line 'em up against the famous blue and white stripes and I found myself feeling devoid of all feeling or emotion for my 2nd fav side, totally empty, like they were some sort of cheap one night stand!! I wanted 'em put to the sword and no prisoners.

Saying that I'd always prefer to see Liverpool win at the top of the Premiership. Doncaster getting promoted as champions is just fantastic and Barnet will hopefully win the conference play-offs. But when any are up against the albion.......they're all the devil's spawn!
