60's - end of thread. I remember my daughter in her late teens or early twenties saying she can't believe she missed the 60's. A child out of time I'm afraid. Still at least she'll probably remember her teens!

early 1970's for me (and probably the late 60's): joni mitchell, van morrison, neil young, stones, eagles, american west coast, yep that's the one


yup....apart from neil young. I thought apart from After The Goldrush, he was too depressing

( I liked Crosby Stills Nash and Young though)

has to be the 60s.

every single band/artist since is almost certainly going to have at least one influence from this era.

motown/the kinks/the beatles - they just don't make them like that any more.

i think the results do modern music injustice, its just that most people are going to prefer music from yesteryear as they have known it for longer, i'm not saying that 00's is the best, i myself voted for the 80's, but 2.5% of the voting is harsh!
