Have i missed something here? Why does everyone think he is going to leave, is this because of the Norwich incident? He is still under contract so if Gus/Tony don't want him to go, he won't (or am i being naive)

If Bennett does go, they're going to have to offer more than that!

Championship player,on Championship wages,under contract,demands Championship fee-£1.75m (at least).

I actually meant the 750k bid when i wrote that, a bid approaching 2 mil may be a good price, if we were going to sell

It would be very good, that said i really don't want to loose Bennett but the fact remains the club come 1st,any player however good that has no heart or head in it must be allowed to leave,if unable to be persuaded to stay.

Don't think we will let him go now for less than a million clear after paying any add-on to Wolves but if he gets an offer to go to the premier league and he wants to then he will go. £750K is just crap reporting - less than the offer before we (and Norwich) were promoted.

It would go against everything Gus believes in to stand in his way.

My feeling is that the Buckley bid is to cover his loss and I reckon £750K is roughly what we might end up paying to get him.

The fee for Buckley would need to be 1m IMO and we should accept nothing less than 1.5 - 1.75m for Benno

It would need to be £1 Million minimum for him to move and if he did he would only be loaned back out again.

I would think Crofts may struggle to keep his place in the Premiersh1te

Correct. End of the day we have to accept the facts that as soon as any club bigger or higher than Brighton starts sniffing around players they will eventually go. Much as I like loyalty, it simply does not happen. Players are greedy in my opinion and money always comes first.

We need to treat players like they treat us in when other clubs start sniffing around. If they make noises about wanting to leave, we need to let them go. Once they have been poisoned by the thought of extra money they start losing interest.

As regards Bennett, now he has seen Murray go he is probably having thoughts about Norwich, like it or not. As far as I am concerned Bennett has done the job for us. Lets hope Norwich make a sensible offer, if they do, so we could get a decent replacement.

After all it works both ways-Hoskins & "Brighton are the club for me" now that's what i like to hear.

Why would he go for 750k when we rejected more than that in January? Surely us and them both going up increases his value. I'm confident he'll stay. His end of season commments show he's keen to emulate Norwich's success with us. He knows he's going to be the key man for us and deep down, probably knows he's more likely to succeed in the Championship. We'll be lucky to keep him after next season though.
