Belly buttons - what's the point of them?

I had an umbilical hernia about four years ago. Now after the surgery to remove said hernia I have no belly button. Still seems odd but was warned I may lose it, oh and my bum hasn't dropped off...

All of that is rubbish. They are there to collect belly fluff which is - if you are healthy - nearly always a shade of blue. Sky blue meaning you are in tip top condition.

It doesn't always follow as to what colour shirt you wear . It's a phenomenon that has never been explained even by some of the worlds great scientists.
