Ignoring the rumours….

This thread reminded me, great hand on the cut back yesterday, and brilliant cover by Pervis.

The save low down was good, but he’d/we would have been disappointed if it had gone in.

Well done Bart 😃👍

JPVH deserves to be mentioned as well, he cut out the initial cross making it a less dangerous ball but diverted it towards our own goal. Bart then made the save and Pervis reacted quickest to complete a great defensive effort by all 3 players.

So the guy who a lot of people deem not good enough for BHA – often with stats to 'prove' it – is being courted by Real Madrid.

Real FACKING Madrid?

Make it make sense...

EPL is biggest shop window in the world innit. Imagine if we were to somehow retain the cream of the superb talent just passing through BHAFC en route to their final destination club. We'd be Real Madrid

They would be buying the potential, same as we did.

We all KNOW his potential is sky high just that there are also a fair few clangers. Including not being able to seemingly get near penalties. However that shouldn't be much of an issue in La Liga as they never 'concede' them.

I’m not so sure - definitely a superb keeper in there. He was phenomenal against us the other season and part of a record breaking defence this season.
He was fantastic that day, but apparently that was the highlight of his season. Typical.

Anyway, hasn’t Rushworth won POTS at Championship level? He’d surely be a bettter option.

He did indeed play great against us. But overall he is a hype job. I would take Kelleher over Trafford.
Bart has better potential than both of them.
Trafford let in just 16 goals in 46 league games this season for Burnley.

30 clean sheets! and didn’t ever let in more than 1 goal in any game.

Ridiculous stats for any level of football.

I want my keeper to put in consistent performances over the whole season now, not in a few years when they “may” realise their potential.

Fair.
Bart and Trafford are similar.
Both signed for big money (probably too much ) based on potential.
Both in the international scene (Bart further along).
Both still not the finished product.
It’ll be interesting to see how Trafford does next season, when he’s properly tested.
I don’t think he will be playing for us.

Very harsh. Many of Bart’s critics have won the Champions League on Football Manager without him as keeper so their expert views should be taken seriously

I don't see us selling Verbruggen

I don't see Man Utd bidding massive sums for the keeper with the most errors leading to goals to replace their own error prone keeper. They don't have money to throw around on potential like they used to

Even if we got a tempting offer from Man Utd or whoever, it would make sense for us to make the sale after the world cup, where there's a very good chance he'll enhance his reputation.

From Bart's point of view, he will be focused on that world cup and he'll know Flekken has had a decent season and is pushing him hard for the shirt. He may reason his chances are best served by a move this summer. but I don't think it matters, we won't get an offer high enough to tempt us in my view.

He'll stay and I think he'll have a much better season next year, then we wave our goodbyes

Its a difficult play. If Rushworth is as good as people say then Bart is blocking him, and ultimately we could lose a valuable keeper for almost nothing if he moves on instead. Then if Bart goes next year we've lost our replacement. I personally think it wouldn't take much more than £35m for Bart to get sold. Good profit and frees up the next in line.
