Don't really care what stickers or badges people put on their cars, but it did occur to me that if I am ever close enough to the car in front to actually read them then it might be time to call the insurance company and a tow truck.

Not unles you hear and thud and can TOUCH them

I like it when people have the little fish Christian thing on the back - If you shunt into them at traffic lights you know they're morally obliged to forgive you.

I always thiought they were meant to ask you to drive with more consideration but I drive at all times within my own capabilities of stopping in an emergency etc.

What annoys me more is these stupid 4 x4 with one mum and a child in going to school as if they are the only car that is allowed on the road.

I've got an Albion scarf and stickers in my car, does that mean if I have a crash they will look for the whole f**king team ? Should I have a mini kit so they know Leon Knight might also be in the car ?

That made me laugh out loud.

:lolol:

I always thought the point of them was to indicate that the driver couldn't concentrate on the road fully as he/she could be distracted by a small child. That was certainly the excuse given by the twat who smashed into me on a roundabout and said that he wasn't watching the road as he was seeing to his child in the back. And yes, he had the sign in the back.

They're bloody stupid for whatever reason.

But I hate those Christian symbols even more as they seem to indicate drivers who are in a pressing hurry to get to the kingdom of heaven judging by the way they drive.

Once they've got the payout from your insurance :lolol: :lolol:

Personally it doesn't worry me at all what other people have in their cars.

Least forgiving lot on earth mate - whenever someone tells me they are "a christian" I just think "oh shit, another hypocritical wanker who has placed a pious lable on themselves that they will definitely never live up to except perhaps on that temporary Sunday-morning basis"

If I have upset any 'Christian' by saying that - you HAVE to forgive me, d'unt ya!

In all seriousness though, to follow that doctrine, people should state that they follow, or are TRYING to be Christian, as saying "I am" suggests that they have already arrived....which is bollocks.
Only one bloke could (allegedly) say "I am" (which is the shortest line in the Bible I believe).

I saw someone who had 'SLOW DOWN FOR BADGERS, GO TO FAST AND YOU WILL MISS THE f***ing THINGS'. Had me in stitches for most of the journey home :lolol:

Having hit one a couple of years ago, I can tell you they are a very solid animal and are to be avoided at all costs, unless you do not want to drive your current car again.

I think they are useful when the baby is very small and you might be driving especially slowly, but when you see cars flying past at 70 plus with the stickers in the back well you do wonder what is the point.

If you'd have hit one (badger) you may well have ended up in stitches.

Interesting sense of humour you have there...

No that's a deer!
A badger usually ends up in a cracked exaust pipe or dented sump, I should know I've had two of the buggers!
And I would have slowed down for them I promise but they only let me know of their existence when they were two feet in front of me having just come out from the bushes.
At that point, I'm not sure the decrease in my speed of about 1 mph would have spared them.
A deer however, I'd go out of my way to avoid. You wouldn't want one of them hurtling through your windscreen at 80mph!

They are warning you that there is a baby in the car in front and that you should be more considerate when driving, keep your distance and lessen the risk of an accident (during which a baby cannot fend for its self).

I assume you do not have children yourself. When you do, you will realise that you will do anything to protect them.

WRONG!

I do have kids and when they were babies I would never have dreamed of having a "Baby on Board" sign in the window.

Would have been the same as having a sign reading "Pathetic Idiot Driving".

I'm not likely to have a baby ... medically impossible.

But as a father I can assure you that I have driven many many miles with babies in my car and "Baby on Board" signs would NEVER have been considered. Mostly because they serve absolutely no purpose.

I'm always dissapointed when I see a baby on board sticker. Just when I'd been intending to ram the car in front into a ditch, I see a sign that says I'm not allowed to. It spoils my whole day as the only reason I drive is for the fun of playing dodgems with real cars. I wouldn't dream of driving sensibly and at a safe distance from the car in front, after all I quite like injuring myself and my family in car crashes.

Anyone know where I can get a sticker with Bastard on Board?

Babies are very vunerable, particularly in the first year. They are not fully developed and if the car is involved in an accident, what might be minor whiplash to other passengers could mean certain death for a baby.

I used to think exactly the same thing about those signs, but as a parent now, I totally understand and no - I don't drive like a c**t, I am a positive, fast and safe driver.

I agree about the mums with the 4x4's who cant drive them - they should be taxed to the hilt.

If you have a 'Baby on Board' sticker you are a complete Dork. There are NO mitigating circumstances and NO excpetions. You are quite simply a very bad driver if your mindset is: 'Well if I saw one of these stickers I would certainly drive a lot more carefully." WHY? You should ALWAYS be driving carefully whether the car in front has children in it or is choc-a-bloc with Palace fans.

OK so we've established you're an appalling driver. Some then use the excuse "well in the event of an accident it shows the Emergency Services that there is a baby in the car even if you can't see them." Fine, fair point. So when the baby isn't in the car you take the sticker down do you? This means that the emergency services don't waste precious minutes searching for a non-existent child whilst other people (probably hurt by you as you're a bad driver) slowly bleed to death. If you do religiously take down and put up the sticker to reflect the child content of your vehicle then fair enough, I accept the validity of it. Otherwise don't be so sanctimonious - oh, and book some more driving lesssons, you need them.

I leave the final word to Marge Simpson who picked up a sign at a Garage sale. "Hey Homer I've got one of those 'Baby on Board' signs, now people will stop intentionally ramming us!"

Never felt the need for a 'Baby on Board' sign in the 18 months or so that my daughter has been around since I really don't believe they make any difference at all to the way I drive when I see others with them.

The Albion mini-scarf is another thing altogether though, obviously.
