Gully said:Thanks Laughing B, I couldn't remember Walsall's ground for the life of me. Think the ground was pretty small and unimpressive, we possibly had a terrace behind the goal,
Starry said:Our Champions League/UEFA adventure is etched into my memory. I did have to look up the two in Moscow and Slavias ground, but the rest I can remember of the top of my head.
Uncle Buck said:Some of the shite holes the U21's have played in probably do not have names. Tend to remember countries due to police forces, beer and well not going to go there.
Starry said:That is exactely how i remembered most of them, the police. Some stick out because of the chants we have/had "dom matteo scored a fcuking great goal in the san siro.." etc.
And some, well just Galatasaray stick out for all the wrong reasons![]()

Uncle Buck said:The scariest policing I can remember was Bratislava. The buggers either had ski masks or balaclava's on and the lighting was bad. Coupled with 2 turnstiles for 5000 people and the fact they liked hitting things, it made for an interesting evening.
Starry said:Galatasaray is the singlemost scariest place I have ever been. Got off the plane and into the airport to be greeted by hundreds of their 'fans' with axes and bike chains around the wrists, with their welcome to hell banner. Meanwhile the police stood by and watched while world war three broke out. And continued the whole time we were there.
I dunno, 90 minutes of football cost two wonderful people their lives that week. And coming back two people less, I really really questionned ever going abroad with Leeds again.

Uncle Buck said:Thankfully I have never had the pleasure of Turkey
The Laughing Bluebird said:Glad to hear it. Have you ever had the pleasure of Biscuit?
The Laughing Bluebird said:As it happens, Walsall's Fellows Park was the first away ground I went to on my own - ie: without my dad. We won a thrilling game there 3-2. We were stood on a terrace behind the goal.
The first away ground I ever visited was ....... the Goldstone Ground! August 1975. We won 1-0. Welsh international Tony Villars scored our goal. Don't remember much about it. I was eight at the time. Villars is a driver for DHL these days. I met him a few months ago.
Fascinating.
Saint Lennard said:I really really question watching Leeds anywhere. Seen 'em about half a dozen times and never seen anything worth gettin excited about. Still must go to Elland Road one more time to sow some salt on their hallowed turf. Yorkshire scum.![]()
Starry said:No one said you had to watch Leeds?
Nice to know we can provoke such an outburst though
And Buck - Russia was the most amusing trip, sub zero temperatures (by a long way!), 90 minutes of frozen football and a hotel with out rooms on the 53rd floor.
