Just booked tickets to see Aussie Pink Floyd in April. Anyone seen them before? I've heard they're pretty good.

Heard they're very good, but very expensive?

Didn't Gilmour have them play at his wedding?

I've always thought that this would be a really awesome name for a band who were nothing to do with Pink Floyd.

Saw them at The Zap years ago!!

Fair play to them for moving on to decent size venues as they obviously cant make money from selling records.

Did I say 'records' - old git!!

Just looked at the Brighton Centre website. Could be a rock-tastic weekend.

Sat: Deep Purple
Sun: Queen tribute band (not that I would go to that)
Mon: Aussie Pink Floyd

That is a fair bit for a covers band
They are a tad more than just a tribute band. They are as near to the Gilmour/Waters Floyd as you will ever seen, using - a lot of the Floyd's original old films, circular screen and inflatables including the original pigs. A lot of the concrete musique is changed with Australian references like the radio intro bit in 'Wish You Were Here' as are some of the films with kangaroos; forgot the giant inflatable kangaroo & other subtl Aussie references.

Usually the first set is an entire album (stop yawning) last tour it was WYWH. I think this year is the 30 years anniversary of Animals so that should be definitely worth watching. (I remember this album was always played in it's entirity at gigs at Sussex University, in 1977 certainly before the Damned & Adverts gig i& I believe at other punk gigs. Probably the first 'prog' rock album to distinctinly feature the fcuk word & the first of two Floyd albums to slag off Thatcher.

The reason they play the Centre is because they can fill it, due to the renewed interest in the Floyd post Live 8. Worthing Pavilion & other venues are far too small & would sell out uiommediately.

You'd pay that to see the Bootleg Beatles, who are superb by the way! The reason being the cost of all the origional 1960s amps - needed to achieve the authentic sound.
