VERY much a PREMATURE stoppage and BIG Audley was WAY ahead on my CARD when Wilder got lucky. OF course that LEAVES Tyson FURY as the No.1 HEAVYWEIGHT in the UK

Actually Tyson is ranked number 2 heavyweight in the UK and 6th in the world, according to the latest BoxRec rankings sorry for being pedantic. Wilder would KO fury by round 5.

The Fury who got knocked down by a blown up cruiserweight, yea right.

But a blown up Cruiser weights has won the World heavyweight title in fact a lot of the old heavyweights were nowhere near as heavy as the champions are now, Marciano Patterson and Pastrano wernt and Ali also wasnt originally he only fought at a heavier weight as he got older.

Working in Sheffield at the snooker I managed to get along to the Khan fight later on (thanks to new hero Judd Trump finishing early - nice one son) but got there too late for this farce.

Deontay Wilder was however the star of the show in the aftershow party at a casino in the city centre, the bloke is an absolute beast and was getting mobbed for autographs and pictures.

There were actually better fights in the crowd than Audrey's, at least three I saw while waiting for Amir Khan to start. It is incredible the effect he has had on the public in this country. He has this incredible cross-racial appeal unmatched I would say by pretty much anyyone, with a huge number of Asians and (clearly) Muslims in the crowd. But then the tensions out there in the actual communities boil over a bit on a night like that. All the fights I saw were Asian v white. Coincidence? Possible, but unlikely. Alcohol (and IMHO maybe more than that) appeared also to be a factor.

I went to the casino after the fight was a good night bar losing £300 quid on Black Jack. Saw Denotay Wilder & Haroon Khan in there they also had Box Nation so watched the Murray V Martinez fight followed by Garcia Vs Judah. Left around 8AM to get the train back to Leeds followed by the train back to Kings Cross then Brighton.

I think Fury Vs Wilder would be an exciting fight whilst it lasts. That was definitely Wilder's best performance so far albeit against piss poor opposition, I hadn't been overly impressed with him before hand. His been knocked down before against extremely limited fighters and has never been past four rounds so we still don't know how his stamina will hold up.

Fury has fought the better opposition and whilst showing flaws and vulnerability I would have him a favourite over Wilder.

Forgetting the Audley farce Saturday was actually a superb night of boxing for the following reasons:-

Antony Agogo with a hightly impressive debut, stunning 2nd round knock out.

Khan Vs Diaz was a classic and real edge of the seat stuff. I had Khan doing enough by winning a lot of the early rounds, but many scored it a draw or Diaz win.

Martin Murray performing brilliantly against a top five pound for pound fighter and in my opinion winning the fight especially after scoring an 8th round knock down. The fact it was in Buenos Aires saved martinez who should retire know in my opinion as his performances are deteriorating badly now.

Judah Vs Garcia was also a decent fight with Garcia winning a marginal decision.

Froch Vs Kessler next which should be an amazing fight.

Some real prospects in boxing at mo Agogo, Luke Campbell and Thomas Stalker. There is also Hughie Fury and when he turns over Anthony Joshua.

A spokesman for Mayweather talking about a potential Khan matchup in the UK in an outdoor stadium sometime next year, would be a great spectacle and would fill a 50,000 stadium in my opinion.
