Had another stinker tonight. Can’t believe anyone is defending him.

Stuart Atwell and Matt Donohue is a death wish of a pairing for the albion in almost any circumstance.
The fact Matt Donohue is allowed anywhere near a VAR panel when he’s never refereed a single game in the premier league is a complete and utter shambles.

People here are nuts. The ref gave the Albion goal and was preparing to restart when the VAR told him he had to review it. As we know, that inevitably means the decision has to change. The ref had a perfectly reasonable game. Loads of decisions went our way.

To be honest, I thought the only big decision he got wrong was the Villa penalty claim first half.

Although I’ve not seen the Mitoma one back. That looked a blatant pen from the WSU.

Just seen it back for the first time. It's a pen, no surprise Attwell didn't give it in our favour and that non-award changes the game. As I said earlier his non-award of the Villa pen was a worse decision but probably psychologically a result of his earlier error. He really is an atrocious ref.

Just far enough away from LDC
The trouble with attwell isn't whether he is biased, it's that he is flaming awful.

In my view the handball from the free kick should have been given.

Both tackles in the box should have been given as pens

That he gave the Mitoma goal despite having a clear view that should have caused him to disallow it on field

That he let mcginn ref the game, that he allowed martinez to handle the ball outside the box etc

Both of the 2nd and 3rd goals had fouls in the build up and law of averages says one of those is given if not both.

The fact that it said in the var review they went with referees call on the 2nd says it all.

Just think he’s a shit referee. He should have never been able to referee at the highest level, after that pathetic incident in the Reading v Watford game with the ghost goal. Quite obvious he was never up to it since then. The referee on VAR has never refereed a premier league game in his life, he should be nowhere near the VAR room, he’s a championship referee.

Just watched the highlights. The Ramsey handball after Ayari hit the post was no different to Mitoma’s so why is only one given? Mitoma didn’t score with his arm so I don’t see why it was disallowed.

The last goal was a foul on Wieffer. It was probably accidental but McGinn did elbow him so a free kick should have been given.

Every Premier League team should be allow to choose one referee that isn’t allowed to officiate any of their games. There is no doubt we’d pick Attwell.
