I actually don't know for sure to be honest, but it's an interesting question to ask.
Holy Shit:ohmy: This is a break through moment. Well LI I will say well done for admitting that what you said may not be the truth and that you don't know all the facts.

Finally after all your talk of courage and bravery of opinions you actually manned up yourself.

So Naylor doesn't care about his professional independence, his journalistic reputation, his entire livelihood? Utterly facile.

:lolol: :lolol: Call cynical but since when has the vast majority of reporting in this country (or for that matter any country) been balanced. Everyone one has an axed to grind, or a view to express. That's why left leaning reporters tend to write for the mirror , guardian etc and those of a right leaning view tend to be Torygraph, Times et al. Hardly going to ruin his reputation by being a tad unbalanced is he now:rolleyes:

His stance at present is not balanced. He is entitled to an opinion, but it needs to be balanced, not just because his mate got sacked.

Maybe that explains why he is stuck working for a local rather than a national, although when you look at some of the rubbish working or that has worked on the nationals, he must be really poor.

So Bruce Talbot is a rubbish cricket reporter because he has stuck with the Argus? A lot of good journalists stay with the Argus because they want to stay Sussex-based, I wouldn't knock them for that.

And, really, you are the last person who should lecturing about balance when it comes to McGhee, at least Kev has an excuse that he is a spotty immature kid.

Yes, it would harm a journalist's reputation if his editor discovered he got too close to a contact and it was compromising his reporting. Everyone has a boss watching their work, and Naylor has quite a few.

But Bruce Talbot is a Sussex fan and I have a feeling he is leaving the Argus anyway.

Naylor is a career journo and yet is stuck at a local rag rather than getting to a national, so he cannot be that great.

In any case my views on McGhee are put on a discussion board, not a newspaper. What goes in the press should have some balance even if the conclusion is more based on opinion.

Nice try at a snide remark at the end.

But you have no idea whether he has turned down opportunities just to stay local, as has Bruce Talbot in the past. Fairly typical double standard you've created between the two of them there.

What double standards? From what I can work out with Talbot he has been based in Sussex and reported on Sussex for the majority of his career and has created a niche for himself as he has also written books on Sussex County Cricket Club (a bit like Vinacombe did with the Albion, he used to report on the Albion, long ago, just so you know).

Naylor I am guessing was a career journo and came South to further his career, sadly that has not happened for him and we are stuck with him.

Bad day, you seem to be wanting to argue with everyone, terrible Wendy getting a result...

So your totally ignoring my question then? Surprise surprise, instead of answering my question you call out random insults to me.

But what if his Editor isn't too fussed? But I still give you the arguement that why would the Bloom's willing pay-up 18 months of McGhees contract to keep the FDM happy, as you imply?
