Brighton and Hove is independant of any county town now. Administratively it is outside of both East and West sussex.

Whilst I abhor what Lewes DC have done and hope they get their just reward I fear as has been said in other posts, Falmer is not the big issue in the Lewes DC area. It's the incinerator at Newhaven and the council are playing a canny game on that one which has great support. The Falmer issue does not concern most folk; fumes from an incinerator do.
This could be the whole crux of the matter , by deflecting criticism away from the incinerator and trying to play down the JR issue (which they hope has the opposite effect) , LDC could be using "smoke and mirrors" tactics. The best case scenario for them is for the club to fold before they have to pay out on legal fees and then confirm the go ahead for the incinerator spewing carcenogenic particles all over Sussex. I believe they think Falmer is a small thorn in their side compared to the incinerator issue but how wrong they are!

or Lewes drop their joke case.

Which they will not do-they've had a number of opportunities to back down whilst maintaining their dignity.

Sadly, we have a handful of monied c unts who think the jaundiced, prejudiced views of a few are more important than the wishes of tens of thousands.

Although this may be an old story-every time I read stuff about those LDC bastards I just want to walk up to each one of them and kick them in the crotch whilst I'm wearing steel toe capped boots.

Not surprising news this. A shame, but we will cope with the delays.

It drags on for a year and Multiplex are the contracted to build the stadium and we're all attending the opening in 2010

If that is the case how come we were able to get over 5k signatures in a week urging Lewes DC not to go ahead with the JR, which is much more (I believe) than Baker collected over the incinerator?

Because locals are sick to death of council tax money being wasted.
They still feel more strongly about the incinerator.
The problem is that an incinerator isn't actually that bad and certainly not as bad as local protestors seem to think it is.
