I was referring to the Met police. They have a reputation for acting first and asking questions later. The newspaper vendor I was referring to was Ian Tomlinson.

The police officer abused his power and assaulted the student. Sure he was acting up and being a bit of a dick, but it isnt an excuse for a police officer to assault someone.

Luckily they were wearing a sound recorder, something more police along with a bodycam, should be wearing as then it gives first hand evidence on how the officer has acted and evidence to prove whether they are guilty or not.

It seems odd to me that protests in London are often met with Police in riot gear, and riots are just filmed from a distance. The tactics need looking at, because kettling causes frayed tempers on both sides.
