Are you all too blinkered to consider that he was perhaps trying to make the point that he doesn't get involved with tactics?

Why didn't he say that then? Dougie's role is to pick the team he thinks will win games. Or It is pre-season lets not panic yet. Or We had a couple of injuries and Dougie had to make do with what he had available. Or some players are lacking fitness. Or better still don't say anything!!!

Anything would be better than playing a Teflon role of it wasn't me guv!

That would have been a far easier way of saying it, 'I don't pick the team/tactics'. But the way he chose to do it was a dig at the style which he obviously doesn't agree with. You can't cover it up as anything other than a disagreement with Freedman's style.

And then to swear in a tweet at Moose later on just emphasises that perhaps some cracks are beginning to appear and he's not quite as professional as you all hoped, and actually makes you look a bit silly.

That maybe true - but the point he made publically, and then failed to 'clarify', was that he was frustrated with the manager. A bad start and I reckon Freedman is history.

Easy , are you copying filledout Sussex in your pointless palace threads ? Btw why aren't you on the BBS anymore ? Banned or flounced ? Copying 08 again :nono:

None of the above.

A flounce would usually involve a dramatic self-indulgent "bollocks to the lot of you" thread before signing off. I just can't be bothered with it any more, its the same old posters recycling the same old boring arguments. It always ends up boiling down to attendances and "plastics".

Dull.

No. Because that isn't a comment he should make. If you complain to a store manager about a check out person, the manager won't say "that's nothing to do with me, I don't work the till". As manager he is responsible for what goes on in his store, just like as chairman, Parish is responsible for what goes on in his club. He hires and fires people based on job performance. If the fans are unhappy, the chairman is who they will/should complain to. Parish needs to accept this and step up.

It would have been very easy to defend DF. "People weren't complaining about the tactics when we beat Man Utd", "League cup semi, highest finish in years, DF's style seems to be working". But he doesn't do that.

By directing people's complaints to DF he gives them legitimacy, and he is sending a mob to get on DF's back.

Maybe it's only to get them off his back, which should scare you - a chairman who can't handle the pressure?
Maybe he agrees with the complaints but is too cowardly to tell DF face to face, which should scare you - a chairman scared of his manager?
Maybe he has, and DF hasn't changed, and this is Parish stepping it up. This should scare you - a manager who is a law unto himself ignoring the guy who signs the cheques, and the fans to play negative football?

If it was simply an innocent reaction to the pressure, his follow up tweet gave him the opportunity to clear it up, and offer defence of DF, but he failed to do so, instead reinforcing that what he said was true.

Whatever the truth, it's not us being blinkered. Together with the follow up tweet, it appears there was nothing innocent in those comments.

It included those, yes. Williams went off in the first 20 minutes, Murray, Easter, Ramage, Zaha etc. were all subs. Jedinak who is one of our most important players didn't play.

A Palace side without Williams, Zaha and Jedinak is not even close to full strength.

Williams went off after 39 minutes with a calf injury , apart from 3 or 4 fringe players who were in the team squad you took over to Reading the rest are going to be playing week in , week out for the 1st team.

Wouldn't it be more interesting to score points on petty point scoring when the season starts properly ?

Nigel baiting doesn't stop during the off season , its a 365 day a year pastime.
