The call for people to "stay in their own countries" is exactly what the Archbishop has provoked. This can only damage inter-community relations and it's why he should never have made his comments.

Its not really what i was saying ed, what i was saying is that we have become a multicultural society but which i embrace but the bottom line is we need to embrace our own culture too.

If sharia law becomes embedded it will only lead to it bleeding into our own culture and that can only be dangerous given the current perrilous state of our youth

Thank GOD for Clapham Gull & Lord Bracknell for taking the time to enlighten folk here.

Shame The Sun & Daily Mail readers can't get their heads out from up their arses and see common sense too.

Of course.

And the point that the Archbishop is missing is that, for centuries, Muslims have managed to live in peace in non-Muslim countries. His argument implies that they can't.

He's wrong.

And just how exactly will it..."[ lead to it bleeding into our own culture ]" ?

Indeed !

And weren't the three great monotheistic faiths all living peacefully together in Jerusalem before the Crusaders decided to wade in and let the blood flow knee deep ?

Could there not be a more sinister motivation here. In a time when the Church of England is loosing numbers and islam is on the increase could he not be planting this propaganda to provocative a reaction. By encouraging this anti islam reaction it may benefit the numbers for the Church of England.

I may be reading too much into this but I reading a book about Lord Walshingham at the moment.
