Trudeau's Tern
Common Tern
Roseate Tern
White-fronted Tern
and loads more
even the Forster's Tern

but not a Cultural Tern.

As has already been mentioned the caadians spent quite some time blowing things up around there prior to the Normandy landings.

I recall that Stanmer village was commandeered and used for urban warfare exercises and restored post war.

As far as I know the Firing ranges were mainly North of the A27 in the fields above stanmer village,on the way towards Ditchling I've certainly seen enough military debris up there to support that view.

As far as Archaeology is concerned I very much doubt there will be much of interest there, its poorly drained and there have been no finds of any kind relating to any period,to date, that I can find.
