Have to be honest to say that I haven’t read all the thread however, I am a Betista, does that mean I want Chelsea to beat them in the final to give us a European place?
If so, that’s a sad day for me.

Having to support Chelsea will be a sad day for all of us. The silver lining if we finish ninth is that we can hope Real Betis humiliate them.

I’ve just calc’d the fractional odds of the scenarios required, which is as follows:

BHA fail to get a point at spuds (0.24 probability) AND Brentford win at Vulvas (0.38 probability) - combined probability is 0.09 giving 1.09 fractional odds.

Forest to beat Chelsea and Chelsea beat RB is a 3.2 x 1.8 acca paying 5.76.

Villa failing to get a point at Man U is a 0.22 probability giving 1.22 odds.

Newcastle failing to get at point at home to Everton is a 0.095 probability giving 1.095 odds.

The above all combines to give an acca paying £8.40 per £1 stake. It’s not impossible, but it’s still an outside bet dominated by Forest and Chelsea results.

But you're not supporting anyone except Brighton. You are just watching a match hoping one of the teams loses.

Of course, it may be redundant anyway.

I'm not sure I've seen it on here amongst the permutations and calculations, but are people aware, and correct me if I'm wrong, that if everything falls into place then we only qualify for a play off?

All the stars could align, we sully ourselves supporting Chelsea for a night, but with half the squad out with chronic seasickness from the ferry to Athletico Svalbard we might be out before the league stages!
Oh my god, where do I sign up?

It takes a few days to swap the pitches over. Doubt they bothered to do that on the off chance there’d be a pitch invasion if they won.

They are happy to put 10 big mobile screens on the pitch (on matting) but are worried about the damage 1500 people in trainers, walking on it will do?

I think it will be okay, tbh.

I'd rather chop off my own texting finger than hope Chelsea win anything other than the scabbiest football team ever award, their lazy ££££s spunked fuelled approach to everything makes me projectile vomit and blast fart usually leading to a violent follow through.
Basically I hope they lose, and if that means they get to compete in the conference league again next season and not us, I'm at peace with it .👍

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Success is all relative. Qualifying for the Conference league would be a bigger deal for us than winning it would be for Chelsea.

But they have already qualified for Europa minimum haven't they?

Why are people always mentioning Newcastle? Their result is TOTALLY IRRELEVANT.

Even if they lose heavily and finish 7th, with Chelsea losing to Forest and finishing 6th, 8th would still qualify for Europe (providing Chelsea beat Betis).

Why do we need Newcastle to get a point - they're above Chelsea on GD? Surely if both lose, Newcastle would need to get absolutely pumped by Everton at St James to finish below?

And it wouldn't matter if they did.

There are two scenarios where 8th could qualify for Europe if Chelsea win the Conference:

Chelsea finish 7th
OR Chelsea finish 6th and Newcastle 7th.

So in the unlikely event Newcastle lose by substantially more than Chelsea, 8th would STILL qualify.

The Newcastle result doesn't matter in any way whatsoever.
