Presumably if Chelsea finish seventh and lose the final they end up back in the Conference again next season. It wouldn't be a consolation but it would make me laugh to think they've got another season playing in a competition they've never wanted to be in.

I've simplyfied it here
(IF Chelsea lose at Forest
AND
Man City pick up 1 point against Bournemouth H or Fulham A
AND
Villa pick up 1 point against Man Utd A
AND
Newcastle don't lose by more than 2 to Everton H)
AND
(Brighton win at Spurs
OR
(Brentford fail to win at Wolves
AND
Bournemouth fail to beat both Man City or Leicester))
AND
Chelsea win the UCoL

I'd be interested to know what odds there are for all those results coming in.
Its not quite that complicated, and it will get a lot easier (hopefully) tonight after City play at home to Muff.

If Muff fail to win.....City win or draw.

It will require just 3 teams results to sort PL final standing.

at least 1 point for us at Spurs and Villa at Old Trafford plus Forest win v Chelsea, regardless of any other results.

Then it's all on Ucol final

I am feeling fairly confident that we can keep hold of 8th place and that City and Villa will do what they need to do. The odds for all of these are pretty short.

The key is what happens with Chelsea. The City Ground will be absolutely buzzing, and Chelsea haven't been great away from home, so I fancy Forest to win.

The one I'm most worried about is the UCOL final - Betis are no mugs and Chelsea, I believe, will be without Palmer?

I have the added complication of being a huge Betis fan for the last 25 years, since a good friend moved out there and took me and my boys to a game. Been back a few times to watch them, they are a proper big time club, the people's club of the city unlike Sevilla. They've never been in a European final.
If it comes down to a straight shoot-out for our European place then of course I will support Chelsea, but it would be through gritted teeth.

To be fair, how many of Chelsea’s players have been?

We need a win at Spurs to see off Brentford and their superior goal difference

A mate did an acca and the odds are coming out at about 7-1 for European qualification.

Palmer is available for the final. They named him in the squad for the knockout phase of the Conference League after leaving him out for the league stage.
