Anyone else feeling strangely positive about next season?

I raise you what I have already said in this topic - Hull City. Long saga last Summer with Nick Barmby, eventually appointed Steve Bruce then got promoted this season.

But if you want to be all doom and gloom, you may as well go and watch Palace as thats all its going to be for them.

I had forgotten all about the Nick Barmby saga at Hull.

Interestingly the Wikipedia profile says he was sacked for comments made about the owners and transfer funds.

Even more interesting, he lost his appeal against his dismissal.

Deja vu ?

This week isn't so important. Fitness and medical staff will be doing all the work anyway. Tanno & Burke will have a plan in place for the week. Basically running, running & running for a week.

We have no chance of even making the play offs next season now. The club as of today is a shambles in terms of preparation for next season. As it is we have no one to even take training next week so Matt Miller will likely have to do it. We have a manager possibly waiting but how long before someone like Garcia says, f*ck this, I am off to a club who has their shit together. I am sure we are not the only club interested in him. He would have around a week to get a team ready for the first friendly even if installed next week. We have players offered contracts but rightly have not signed them as they would probably like to know who the manager might be, we have lost Bridge and Upson and have signed no one and unlikely to whilst this ridiculous state of affairs continues. Anyone that thinks Tanno is going to come back is living in fantasy land and Oatway has been hung out to dry. Shitgate apparently, is now concluded with no outcome or statement on how it happened and who was responsible. People are cancelling their st monthly instalments, the club will not publicise this and we have imploded completely and with the backdrop of this mid table would be an achievement next season. Prepare for midtable at best.

Stop beating around the bush, are you feeling strangely positive or not ?

Matt Miller is arguably the best person to take the first week or so of pre season training seeing as he specialises in fitness and conditioning. We'll have a new manager by tomorrow/Tuesday, everything will be fine and you'll be gone from this forum until the next bad thing happens. XXX

I pretty much agree with all of this i doont know about the st cancellations. However up untill friday i was 100% behind the board. Now i feek very anxious with complete media lock down and radio silence from club and local media. Even for the staunchest bloom and barber supporters this cannot be how they envisaged this paning out with players returning tomorrow and no clear direction from the club and apparently no first team management in place. I am praying for announcements tomorrow and all this can be resolved. Unquestionably this has damaged the clubs prospects for next season and for that reason i am not optomistic at all about next season.

I pray i am wrong.

It's difficult to disagree with you, but I would be hugely surprised if significant progress hadn't been made on not only a new manager, buy also the players he would want

So two days right at the end of the clubs 5 week investigation has completely changed your tune? Great logic.

i feel if we the right man we could have a great season. and we need to bring in a big stong centre midfielder as i feel we are light weight in midfield as i feel we were always out muscled in midfield last season, we need a decent left back and maybe a decent goal keeper to put pressure on tom k and brez and a decent centre back and an attcacking midfielder who will undo the defence in tight games

Basically a new team?

it's all bollocks ..was hoping to take my mind off this bollox by watching the icc final with a couple of outstanding bottles of red....but i'll have to make do with murder in paradise or whatever it's effing called....sake sake sake .....faksake. if we have got a new manager by weds and two or three immediate signings then i might pep up a bit ....at the moment i am about as optimistic as a joey deacon at the top of a ski jump slope.

Yes in a sense if the club after five weeks of investigations cant find enough evidence to sack or negociate a mutual consent deal and cannot for whatever reason make any anouncements 24 hours before the players return for training then i am starting to think they might have ****ed this up arent you at all worried??

in many other posts i have stated that i was very concerned about this and it would end ugly and that gp holds all the cards it appears he does. I had hoped like all on here that this would be resloved by the start of pre season. It apparently hasnt and this is what makes me worried and puts us a a huge disadvantage for next season.

Like i said hopefully this will be resolved tomorrow, even if it is we are 5 weeks behind all champoinship clubs in trying to sign players etc.

Wow, you are a real bundle of laughs. So much negativity; if that's how you view everything in life, it's not healthy.

I'm positive for next season. Gus wasn't a god. He did OK, bearing in mind the situation at the albion when he took over. The Amex to move into, a bigger budget, a chairman who backed him fairly well (IMO). He did OK, but I think we actually under-achieved a bit last season - however, I accept that is very subjective.

As for the 'shambles', what complete CRAP. There is a LEGAL process which needs to be adhered to. Is that too complicated for you (and the other idiots throwing their toys out of the pram) to understand?
If the club had tried to keep the suspension quiet, it would have leaked out into the media. So, they announced it, and, for OBVIOUS legal reasons, have had to keep everything else confidential. It's really not complicated, but so many twats on here can't understand how a business runs. I assume that they are either kids, self-employed with no concept of how an organisation works, or just maybe just thick.

We may NEVER find out what has gone on. There may be a non-disclosure agreement reached. Shit, the binfest on here then if that happens.

And what if I told you we had reached an agreement to relieve Poyet from his duties? No I don't know for sure, but I'm basing it on guessing. Just like you.

And you say we are 5 weeks behind other teams to sign players. That's not true at all. The transfer window doesn't actually open until 1st July and only free players are available at this time (and pre announced money deals but these are largely in the bigger leagues). I bet you can't name a championship club who has made a "big signing" so far, bar Reading and Bridge?

I am not intersested in finding out what happened. You seem to be a big business billy big bollox therefore wouldnt you expect the chairman and board of directs to have senior managment in place at the start of ur most import business period? Our other 23 competitors all do.

So you beleive that all other champoinship clubs for the last five weeks have not being talking with agents and players, contracted or not, chairman discussing with management about budgets, plans players? We are 5 weeks behind where we should be.

I hope you are right about an agreement with poyet i really do!
