We have just returned from Cala n Bosc on Menorca and it was two weeks of sheer bliss.

The temp hardly dropped between 38 degrees ( Thank God for Air Con units) one day it was over 47 degrees when we went to Fornells( King of Spain's favourite spot)

If you want a decent holiday not full of English hooligan proles, then Menorca is for you.

Pictures of brown bodies of very fit Spanish ladies to follow!!!!!

Went there last year (Son Bou). It's ok, bit pricey.

Think you'll find all the Balearic Islands are expensive. Everything
has to be imported and the euro is about 15% stronger than this time last year.

Also went there last year - Punta Prima. Very nice.

Dave - I remember being told something along the lines that the King of Spain's favourite restaurant is in Fornells and anyone eating there at the same time gets their meal for free. I take it he wasn't around at the same time as family DTG?

It's paradise, especially if you're there with locals so you find all the wild beaches.

Off again on Sunday. Only drawback being I'll have to watch QPR game on telly.

Is our game the only SKY game that evening? If a Premiership game is on at the same time, why would they show us?

I ask 'cos I know someone in Ibiza who wants to know what chance there is of the game being shown in a local bar

Spiros, we were told that too, but he was not there when we were, although wew only stayed around a hour to have a beer and a short walk before flaking out. Mrs DTG had to sit down as the heat was so intense.

We spent around £1100 on meals and various stuff ( Barcelona shirt!!!!! - will wear it at the QPR game for you all to see, I couldn't buy a Real shirt with Beckham on the bloody thing)

Met some really great folks, Wednesday fans/Sunderland/Newcastle/Chelski and saw a Palace fan in the airport terminal but lost him in the melee.

PEACH SCHNAPPS!!!!!!!! Oh Yes!!!

PS anyone know where we can get Heirbos ( its a sort of Aniseed type drink)

Doesn't matter if we're not the only game. The girlfriend has a mate who owns a bar out there, she'll have a quiet word and we'll be shown regardless of who else is playing. Which is nice.

Cala n Porter, Dave. Just up the road from a big restaurant called Sa Paisa - it's an English style pub, so not my preferred watering hole when abroad, but if it'll guarantee I'll get to see the game, I won't complain.

Strongly recommend a restaurant out in the middle of nowhere called 'Ca'n Bernat'. Order a steak of any description and you get a thing that looks like that comedy dino-burger at the end of the Flintstones. Top quality, fantastic views from the terrace. And run by another mate. ;)

It's OK into September at least, better in fact, 'coz that's when all the Geordies (Catalans) have gone home. You might be OK in early October, but much later than that and I think you'll be struggling.

Ca'n Bernat, by the way, is on the road from Cala n Porter to San Clemente, on the left just before Calas Covas. Blink and you'll miss it, but it really is worth a special trip if you're on the island.

Yes, we went there! Very nice, only he wasn't there so we had to pay.

I went to Cala'n forcat in October a number of years ago. Took the kids during half term. Only problem was that most of the people who run shops/bars etc return to mainland Spain.

Still had a good time though.
