If I worked in an office, yeah. But if I worked in an industry based more heavily on subjective talent, such as one in some way art/music-based, and I was in charge of someone with enormous talent but a bad attitude, I'd endeavour to do everything possible to maximise his talent and allow him to do his job, at which he actually excels. Granted, there'd always be a point at which the situation has become untenable, but I don't think we're at that position re Knight/McGhee yet. Not nearly.

As for comparisons with Defoe, I certainly don't think he's any worse than Jermain at the moment ...

If it was art/music based it would explain why so many groups split up due to different egos.
He is not a single talent, he is just one of 24 players. He may be the best but the other 23 shouldn't have to suffer because of one person.

Your example involves a set of equals who fall out - that's a different relationship. If the other players wanted Knight out, then he should go. However, I have never come across anything to suggest this in the slightest.

Leon Knight would not be welcome in my house, and I would not offer to buy him a pint.

For my money he is an absolute waste of my ticket.

An curious thing to say about the player with the most goals and assists this season, which would seem to suggest he has a certain value to the side. I'd buy him a pint. Two, even.

agreed - he may be one of our best players, but the guy also appears to be a complete and utter wanker

Know him well do you?

"the guy appears to be" i think would be the key in what i said - from the way he reacts to being dropped, the arrogance he shows and i will never forget the way at a seagulls club xmas thing when he first joined he was just snatching kids autogrpahs books withouth even a smile or anything - great way to treat young fans that is

I don't think any of us do, but you have to admit he doesn't seem to APPEAR to have a good personality.

He told supporters in the North Stand to f*** off after throwing his armband (a mark of respect) on the floor in disgust, he waited until no other offers for him cam ein before signing a contract, he gets pissed off every times he's dropped showing bad attitute towards McGhee and now selfishly neglects to cheer the team on as he isn't playing.

Yes, he may be a good player, but he does APPEAR to be a wanker in some peoples opinion

To be fair, I think he has difficulty with fans. He was very quiet at the Race Day and the kit sponsors dinner.
Not all players are relaxed with strange people coming up to them and demanding autographs.

Exactly. A bit much criticising someone for not being comfortable dealing with people ... plently of the players who were at the Sponsors' Dinner were quiet, and unsuprisingly looked liked they hated being there - I don't really blame them either.

The players like Jonah, who is a natural at making conversation, were well in the minority.

Watching the QPR game now reminds me of a few seasons ago, when I was sitting next to Knight's dad. When Knight got elbowed by Carlisle/Shittu, can't remember which one, his dad went MENTAL and had to be physically restrained, it was also the first time I had seen a black man racially abuse another black man:jester:

...probably not the brightest family.

Strange, I was directly in front of him then and never saw that. Not that he'd be very much in the wrong - some of the abuse he gets from the Withdean crowd is disgusting ... and we seem to reckon we're the best fans in the country!
